    🤍A sad update to let you know MATERIAL WORLD died peacefully in her paddock aged 28yrs this morning. 🤍🌹
    Our first winner on the track and well known for her bravery despite having just the one eye, only just getting touched off at the Pertemps Final in Cheltenham.
    Outlived by her daughters and their progeny, she has plenty to run for her. We owe her a lot as she put us on the map.

    So lovely to hear that she lived a full and happy life despite her impairment and was loved so much by Suzy and her family. A true success story and she will be sadly missed.

    It only seems like yesterday that she was running. I must look up her progeny. I do like following the progeny of good race mares eg Dubacilla and my beloved Little Glenshee. Probably goes back to reading National Velvet and the bit about Pocahontas that says “whose blood ran down through time into her flying children”. RIP Material World. I’m glad that you had such a wonderful retirement.
