MM could go off at around 4/6 at Newbury.

    Outstanding bet?

I was thinking of doing him in a double with Diamond Harry who is 4/5 at the mo.

    That’s a 2/1 double…c’mon, folks!!

I think Voy Por Ustedes at 3/1 looks one of the bets of the season, personally.

    Agreed. Should be favourite.

VPU hasn’t the speed for 2m nowadays, and has 19l to find with Masterminded anyway. I can’t believe for one second that PN would send the favourite out that unfit.

Good job it’s 2m1f on a galloping track then with cut in the ground and a strong pace will be set by FTR making it a near enough 2m3f+ test :D

19l to find? You’re referring to form from 2 years ago. MM has regressed a stone since then and won’t be fit tomorrow.

Obviously MM can win but the prices suggest he’s about 5 times more likely to win than VPU. This simply isn’t true.

VPU hasn’t been campaigned at 2 miles for almost two years despite arguably the bulk of his best form being over this trip.
Master Minded (from an exceptionally high level) has steadily regressed in performances since his Victor Chandler win 13 months ago and on top of that has had a serious injury.
Also, what about the 18L MM has to find on VPU from their most recent meeting?
VPU looks a good bet to me.

    Fix The Rib

will pick up the pieces if Master Minded flops and Voy Por finds it all happening too quickly

VPU hasn’t been campaigned at 2m for 2 years for a very good reason – he’s too slow. Master Minded, conversely, is all about speed, and wouldn’t have been helped at all by the soft ground at Punchestown.
Over this track and ground, VPU will struggle to even get 2nd, imo.

People often think that Newbury is an easy flat track that suits speed horses. Completely wrong. The long straights give stayers – who may struggle over that particular trip elsewhere – the chance to find their stride.

    Master Minded
    Denman
    Long Run
    Diamond Harry

They won’t all win nearly always one hotpot in a situation like this gets turned over.

Denman can’t fail if he stands up. Leaves one of the other three.

Inchidaly Rock to turn over Diamond Harry? Fix The Rib to shock Master Minded? Voy Por to roll back the years?

Can’t wait going to be a very interesting afternoon.

I’ve stuck an acca on all four of the "big guns", pays about 7/2.

Can’t see any of them getting turned over to be honest.

VPU looks the only viable danger here. If Fix The Rib didn’t have such a weak record jumping left-handed, I think Master Minded would be worth taking on, but as it is, I think the market is about right and the race is a ‘watcher’…

Fair play to Ruby,he blames himslef for the mistake.
Superb recovery though, the horse must be so very strong even at the end of a race.

Of all the big guns to get beat Denman would’ve been the last one you’d expect.

Fair play Reet and Zippy, I’ll take my medicine
MM looked wonderful and VPU looked a ‘shadow’
