Jaleo if he runs, as long as they don’t win the Betfair with him (which I think may be too short a trip for the horse).
If he does run in and win the Betfair though, he’ll probably go on to win the Coral Cup
January 23, 2017 at 22:19 #1283505Done my conkers on that last time out. Didn’t make it past the 1st hurdle. I’ll be going overboard on TYCOON PRINCE. He’s multiple entered so i’ll be waiting for NRNB on all my handicap punts. I think he’s got a big prize in him off 136 before going chaseing
January 23, 2017 at 22:21 #1283506Haha I backed him last time too, pretty sure he went on to win the race by a fair few lengths, though no idea if he’d jumped all the hurdles or taken any sneaky short cuts without the jockey on board.
January 23, 2017 at 22:24 #1283507He went better without that Ferguson plonker on – lol
January 23, 2017 at 22:28 #1283509lol yeah I’m pretty sure I recall him stretching away from the field after the last and ‘winning’ by at least 6 lengths, obviously much easier without the weight of the jockey on board but to me it suggests he’s still a fair bit better than his mark of 137.
January 23, 2017 at 22:29 #1283510wait a minute, with his jockey Ferguson being is it a 7lbs or 10lbs claimer, could that flatter his performance post-fall? being that he had even less weight on him than the horses with pro jockeys?
January 23, 2017 at 22:32 #1283511He went off 6/1 fav for a handicap at last years festival – maybe the county, i cant remember now. I’ll see who’s jocked up on him on the day. If the invisible mans back on again,i might give it a swerve
January 23, 2017 at 22:43 #1283518Yeah think Nichols won the handicap he was in, can’t remember which one it was either but it was over 2m I think, he made a mistake a few flights from home but think that’s just too short a trip for the horse, if he races again and goes up in the ratings I’d happily back him in the Coral Cup.
January 23, 2017 at 22:44 #1283519the invisible man lol that did make me chuckle
January 23, 2017 at 22:50 #1283521He’ll need to go up 2 or 3lbs to get in the coral cup if last years field is anything to go by. Bottom weight was rated 139.
March 10, 2017 at 17:25 #1290916I’ve went for Taglietelle each way at 50’s NRNB in this. To be honest he was a bigger fancy of mine for The Coral Cup, but if his withdrawal from that means that this race is the main plan, then I reckon he is a big price to places, considering previous Festival Form.
I also had a go on I Shot The Sheriff at 33’s ew with the NRNB.
Taglietelle would be my main fancy at the moment, but one of those races where I wouldn’t mind being mob handed, and I’ll no doubt have more interest whether those 2 run or not.
March 11, 2017 at 23:04 #1291247The Storyteller is out of this race. Yet another ante-post favourite misses a race.
The horse pulled a muscle, so that’s another of Gordon Elliott’s to miss the festival.
I have no fancy for this race as yet but did check out Tin Soldier, who has won two for Willie Mullins after coming over from France.
All I can say is that the jockey will need a pair of oars on this one. He made heavy weather of winning a 3 mile maiden and was then looking seriously out with the washing over 2 and a half miles on Heavy ground but managed to claw back into it in what looked desperately tiring conditions.
Ridden by Ruby Walsh the last twice, Tin Soldier will be ridden by a conditional jockey under the terms of the Martin Pipe race and I feel the poor pilot on board will need to stock up on cans of spinach and boxes of Weetabix for the ride ahead of him on this horse. The strength of Popeye and Superman combined will be needed, so if you see anyone getting into a phone box just before the race, you will know it’s Tin Soldier’s jockey.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 13, 2017 at 22:50 #1291737Tin Soldier smashed up for the Coral Cup today so looks like he won’t be running here.
134 was the cut-off rating last year and it looks like it might be 136 this time with so many entries.
I’ve already backed Tommy Silver 20/1 e/w and have got this down to him + Runfordave, Taglietelle and No Comment.
I’ve had some good days with Taglietelle in the past. He probably has 5-7lbs in hand at his best but I fear that might not even be enough for the frame in a race like this. I’m reluctantly leaving him alone.
No Comment‘s form took a handsome boost from Minella Awards at the weekend and he looks ludicrously well-in. The market hasn’t missed him but he’s still saver material. I’ll go slightly bigger on Runfordave, who I see as a 150ish horse running off 140.
On a side note, it’ll be interesting to see who Hobbs books for No Comment. Gethings is his stable conditional, but the lad’s bollocks are almost too big for his own good. He looks like a bit of a showman and loves leaving it late so I worry about the kid making a howler here.
Three against the field.
March 13, 2017 at 22:59 #1291741I often follow the money or talk in these races as so often it counts for everything. That said, I wouldn’t mind Midnight Jazz. Aside from the neck defeat to VVM it has some okay form and if it goes here 25/1 for a couple of quid each way looks alright.

He won’t carry a penny of my money. He has looked as slow as a boat in his two wins and this will be better ground.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 17, 2017 at 02:37 #1292931NO COMMENT at 6/1 to win
First handicap favourite i’ve done at this year’s festival
Think he wins and Minella Awards boosted his form recently
