I’ve went for Sir Erec here at 50’s each way, and the race has cut up a wee bit there, but 33’s still there with Hills.

I got a smashing run from Weekender in The Ebor, so at 20-1 I have already parted with some money on him each way.

Is there any chance Kew Gardens goes here?

Oh well, no Weekender. I really did think he could place in this.

It is maybe not a race to have a bet in now. I might just enjoy now what will hopefully be a memorable win for Stradivarius.

If I did change my mind I may bet Thomas Hobson.

    Same here Buckers.

Stradivarius looks the proverbial good thing but you could do the forecast with Thomas and maybe back Thomas each way at nine or ten to one!!

That is not the worst idea, I will do the Forecast, but if I do bet Thomas Hobson I will be brave + have him on the nose

I think flag of honour will win this comfortably, ground against stradi and not to mention the weight for age as ive said a million times at this time of year is worth more IMO 8lbs is alot…

Ground is a concern to FOH Also? he’s no form of worth on slow ground.

Definitely does have some form on yielding or worse, but your right in terms of worth, finished in a 3 bunch well ahead of 4th (8lengthe) on heavy in a weak group 3, regardless of the quality of the race/field, he handled the ground, all at the wrong trip was the problem IMO.

Considering they are now eveens and 2-1 Stradivarius soft ground run in this last year is much better form than anything FOH has to offer on soft ground.

Not sure I’ll punt the race but people are talking about stradivarius having a hard campaign to get the bonus, but he’s now coming off a lovely break.

I find it’s best not to get too hung up on whether a horse has won on the surface. Stradivarius was third in the race last year on soft ground, but he was only a length behind Order Of St George. Only 1/2 length behind Torcedor. That’s right up amongst Stradivarius’s best three year old form. If he is below his best due to soft ground it can surely only be by a pound or two – and on form has a lot more than that in hand here. If beaten suspect it’ll be more about being over-the-top after a long, hard season.

Flag Of Honour’s soft surface victory in a Group 3 on final start last year was at least as good as anything he’d done before that. Indeed, after that race there was a question whether he actually needed soft ground. 3rd in another Group 3 on reappearance in heavy ground his best Racing Post Rating up to that point. May have been only 10th in the French Derby, but that too Flag Of Honour’s best run up to that point… Improved a lot on a sounder surface afterwards. There is a chance that was due to a sounder surface, but that French classic was a slowly run 10f. Given the soft ground runs were career bests at the time and the fact he was always going to be a stayer/improve over further – chances are he acts on soft.

Although of course if Stradivarius or Flag Of Honour are beaten we’ll here connections blaming the soft ground – that’s what connections of losing horses do.

I’m on Sir Erec @ 14/1 ew and Stradivarius win bet 0.99/1.

I feel Flag Of Honour holds an outstanding chance here although I’m well aware of the danger posed by Stradivarious. Thomas Hobson shouldn’t be discounted if this turns into a slog.

    Flag Of Honour 11/4

    Savers:
    Stradivarius EVS
    Thomas Hobson 10/1

Cheers Raymo, got a few quid on as well, so had to lay off the stake. Currently considering whether or not to take a profit.

I was on the double heavily of Cracksman & Roaring, and the treble with La. I’ve just chucked £50 at the four timer now the prices have drifted a bit. Come on Strad and the Frankie/JonnyG four.
