Kempes at 10’s is my bet and I’ll do it each-way as the ground is heavy.
Mossey Joe for the novices chase and Quito De La Roque at 5’s will be my other bets today.
December 28, 2010 at 14:30 #334056Cooldine, J’y Vole and Pandorama for me – Mullins will have his two tuned up and the yard are in good enough form – Conditions no problem. Towends had a winner on track today… Wouldn’t want to go shorter than 7/2 though.

December 28, 2010 at 14:44 #334058Bolted in, Ireland’s Gold Cup horse?
December 28, 2010 at 14:55 #334061Cooldine is finished now. He will never win anything with his attitude.
The winner was jumping very good…the only problem come the festival it will need to be soft. Not bog like but must be soft for him to run near his form. At least he loves going left-handed.
Good training performance by Noel Meade

Excellent performance and as preditcted a much better horse than Cooldine and Co.
Gold Cup?
Why not he’s going the right way and Imperial Commander is beatable.
Kauto Star will either win by a street length or make silly errors and come under pressure and then he becomes beatable.

Great performance from Pandorama and a thumbs up to THM who was the only one in here to go for the horse and give it a good mention.
Horse was pulling double with 3 left to jump!
Gold cup not sure.
December 28, 2010 at 15:32 #334068If you followed The Bos(s) you could have landed a nice CTC in that race.

It hasn’t escaped my attention that the first four home have all shown a preference for testing conditions. The first two, especially, are soft / heavy ground specialists.
Pandorama is still progressing, but on all known form he requires testing conditions come March to be a serious Gold Cup horse. A lot to like about the horse: generally jumps well, stays well and has a superb attitude.
Even at this early stage of the season, though, I’d be pretty confident about Diamond Harry booting his backside back across the Irish Sea when / if they meet at Cheltenham.
Money Trix is a dour stay who needs a bog. When a horse that good relies so much on a thorough test of stamina in bottomless ground, opportunities are few and far between. Another really likeable horse – he found plenty under pressure today and I hope he lands a nice prize in the future.
Joncol ran another fine race. He’s a really consistent horse, but lacks gears at the business end. This is often misconstrued as a lack of resiliency, but I don’t believe that. There’s more big races in him, but he will often find a couple too good. I think he’s more of a National horse.
December 28, 2010 at 15:51 #334071Pandorama very impressive; that mistake 3 out was real shocker, but he came back on the bridle quickly and won easily. I can’t see him being competive at C’ham due to the ground, but he should be a fixture at the 3-milers in Ireland for the next few yeras

I liked Pandorama going into the Hennessy and i like him going into this one. Newbury was just one of those things and i’m going to be putting a line through that for several years to come. This race should bring out the best in him and i feel he’s the one to beat.
So not really the only one

I didn’t mention him explicitly but alluded to the fact I thought he was the winner. IC talked me out of it because of Meades form. Well, Meade talked me out of it!
*Rain dancing come March*
December 28, 2010 at 16:23 #334077thanks Mr.Wilson, but there were others who fancied his chances too, Peter H. and Fist napped him.

December 28, 2010 at 16:50 #334081A very pleasing result and some redemption for the Newbury debacle when I bigged him up relentlessly to some friends who went all-in.
Hard to see him being beaten in the Hennessy back at Leop’ in February. After that as long as it is not firm he has an excellent chance in any top steeplechase with the emphsis on stamina. He may end up having a Beef Or Salmon profile but I havent given up hope of a Gold Cup for him and have some decent prices.December 29, 2010 at 15:13 #334183PANDORAMA did it very easy and for the weeks to come I hope he will run against some better chasers .
The picture just before the second-last fence was impressive. Each one of his opponent seemed to struggle, while apparently he was just having a simple walk. - AuthorPosts
