as they are now charging £20 a month to watch them, should they RUK be making more of an effort to bring us some live studio programmes during the freeze up?
to just fill the time with the same replays over and over and over again seems they are taking their viewers for granted!January 7, 2010 at 12:41 #268493Cant remember the last time they did an in depth interview with anyone. Nick Luck’s excellent extended interviews with the likes of Jim Bolger and Aiden O Brien seemingly a thing of the past.
January 7, 2010 at 12:43 #268494ATR showed Cagnes-Sur-Mer yesterday afternoon. Any chance RUK might show Pau today?
January 7, 2010 at 14:14 #268529Absolutely no excuse – for a £20 subscription channel they should be able to offer something better than constant replays.
Even if they cannot get something live in the studio they should have sufficient material, features, interviews etc. "in the can" for broadcast in these circumstances.
Even C4 have standby programs – when we had the "will it, won’t it" saga at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day I half jokingly asked Tanya what film C4 would be showing instead of the racing and she replied they had a "racing package" ready on standby to show instead.
Even when I did a spell in local radio in the early 90’s every presenter had to have at least one pre-recorded show on tape for use when live broadcasts were not possible.
January 7, 2010 at 14:56 #268538It would even do me if they showed some more varied replays, so I could get my DVD library more up-to-date!
January 7, 2010 at 16:40 #268574I agree. They have staff on the payroll so why not use them to create decent preview programmes.
Or at least they could offer a more varied repeat archive. Each time i flick on its the same race.
January 7, 2010 at 17:29 #268594At least tonight RUK are showing a Cheltenham preview programme instead of the abandoned Kempton – but only for ONE hour – why not longer?
