I took some 20s about OK Corral when Hendo confirmed this the target last week. Santini pencilled in to not be going here shocked me TBH, he’s perfect for the race (wins all).
Do you think he might reconsider sending Santini here since TOTG out and LiT off contesting the first round of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?
Very possible but they’ve mentioned the intermediate at Sandown so I think they could have the Lexus at Leopardstown in mind for him at Xmas like they did with Bobs Worth.
No proper reason he can’t do both but I think he’d prefer an easier race pre-xmas knowing Hendo.
I’d be very tempted by Santini, and OK Corral though I’ve a slight doubt about his ability on soft ground. He’s run well on it, but his Warwick performance on Good was 12lbs ahead of anything else he’s done. He was most visually impressive in his younger days on good at Kempton albeit at 3s on.
Santini would be my early call here.
I think that he’s very good, but he’ll have to be to defy this mark.
Another Nicholls horse on my radar is Brio Conti.
Reportedly being targeted at The BetVictor, but think he could be interesting stepped up in trip over the larger obstacles.
Excellent performance from Cabaret Queen at Limerick yesterday, and no surprise to see her in the market here, where she’s a best priced 14’s.
Interesting thought re Brio Conti. They want to make him into a Gold Cup horse so do they spin him over the course or distance first? What else does Nicholls have for this- I know they like Give Me A Copper but he’s been the next big thing for a long time now…

Cabaret Queen aside, it was interesting to see Nicky Henderson mention Terrefort for this. I think he’s a definite forgotten horse here, and if he can get him back to the shape he was in, in Spring 2018, then he’d be big player.
I’ve normally bet something for this by now, and I’m on the verge of taking that 33’s for Give Me A Copper. He looks like the most realistic one for Paul Nicholls, and they think a lot of him. I think he’s better than 142.
Mister Malarky is going to be this year’s Tizzard workhorse by the sounds of it. I predict same as EE: warmup, Ladbrokes, Welsh National, Cotswold then GC if good enough, GN if not. Or both, knowing them. Hope he has the constitution to stand it.
Can anyone tell me where they saw the Henderson stable tour saying Santini wouldn’t run in this? And did he mention where Mr Whipped would be returning?
If Santini isn’t going then I’d be looking at Mr Whipped at nice prices. He should be getting lumps of weight off Lostintranslation and Topofthegame and it wasn’t a disastrous run at Aintree behind those two off levels.Think he still has potential over fences and he beat Paisley Park over hurdles earlier on in his career.
If I had an inclination this is where he’s headed I’ll be getting on now at 33’s…Topofthegame is indeed sideline for the season. As mentioned in the King George thread. Pity really as I backed him Ante post for this race and. Intended to make him one of my ten in VTC’s competition.
