Reminiscent of crystal ocean vs enable that

Westover looks to be a much better 4yo as I was hoping

He just settles much better now

Hukum game as anything and very happy with the win today and the 28s I have for the Arc

Well it makes up for Hamish not running.

A good smattering of TRF Hukum fans too.

Get in, Hukum – that was needed.

Well done, winners, especially Graham with the 7/1.

    The beast wins!

Good luck with your Arc bet, FF.

Even though the form of his Irish Derby win was worthless, today’s running was far worse. Let’s see what John Magnier’s measurements tell us.

Fabulous race that will do more for advertising the sport than a lot of the nonsense ideas we see from the powers that be – just hope the stewards are too busy asking about the Auguste Rodin and not counting the use of the whip by both jockeys in that finish as the replays showed both (Hornby especially) weren’t shy about using it.

I thought that Westover (and particularly Rob Hornby) was going to get his moment when he kicked on but when Hukum headed him I thought he was going to pull clear with his superior stamina but fair play to Westover he fought back and they both were pulling clear of King of Steel (who pulled a little too hard in the very early stages and paid for it late on – I think a drop back to 10F for him might be the way to go). There was certainly no hiding place today.

You would have to say that given what we have seen today that all roads should lead to the Arc for the first two although Hukum will probably be even better suited if we get a soft ground Arc…especially if it is like last year.

How many of the 4 Coolmore horses in this will finish their careers running in Australia (sans testicles)?

They will be thinking retirement. His last two efforts were just too bad.

The pacemakers have no future in Europe at all and Luxembourg doesn’t have any excuses left despite running a very good race.

Not sure if any action has been taken but I hope not. Both horses responded to everything their riders asked.

Agree about King of Steel. If he was mine it would be Irish Champion then Ascot in October.

King of steel is next years horse

A bit like westover was at 3 he’s still a bit too keen and still filling his frame

If he stays sound and continues to progress he could be the best 10-12f horse around next season

Regardless of the prestige of race if they have exceeded use of the whip (or ProCush as Weaver likes to quote) then action must be taken.

The more I know the less I understand.

Agreed and I imagine that if they have exceeded the permitted number then they will get a ban – my issue is that on viewing the race live I didn’t see (or have) any issue with either ride and it wasn’t until watching the repeated viewing of the replay that I then thought……ut oh there might be a problem here.

I guess we will probably have to wait and see what the Whip Review Committee say about it.

Just a power failure, but even without that he is no match for Hukum.
