Clan Des Obeaux to pay for Xmas again, especially back in form with the cheekpieces added.
November 7, 2021 at 14:36 #1566749Clan v Minella v Chantry v Frodon to name a few. Looking like its going to be a deep renewal.
November 8, 2021 at 16:25 #1566878I waited and waited with Chantry House, and I didn’t take the double figures. I’ll take 6-1 though, as I think that he has a great chance in this.
November 10, 2021 at 18:36 #1567041With the yard continuing to fly I’ve got to have a play on lostintranslation , I’ve also done a e.w double inc the betfair chase
Lostintranslation 40-1
November 10, 2021 at 19:51 #1567051Clan des obeaux been laid out for this race by Nicholls skips Betfair for this. This is his gold cup. And up against the almighty Frodon

November 10, 2021 at 21:23 #1567069This year is looking a much stronger renewal so I’d be happy to take CDO on
November 13, 2021 at 14:49 #1567413He won’t go, but taken Midnight Shadow up to 220’s. More likely we’ll see him next in Caspian Caviar.
Midnight Shadow 100’s EW
Midnight Shadow 220’sNovember 13, 2021 at 18:04 #1567440Bobby where do you think he,ll run come March ?
November 14, 2021 at 18:02 #1567614I think they’ll consider The Ryanair, and I don’t think he’d disgrace himself. I’d expect him to run to a similar level as he did in The Marsh
I could see him running in The Ascot Chase
November 14, 2021 at 19:34 #1567621Not I’ve had a particular interest in this since Florida Pearl 20 years ago, Dashel Drasher 66/1 EW looks an ideal type for this race, speed to win at a shorter distance but hints strongly the step up in trip will suit. Given last season’s form can’t believe the price, just have to trust the trainer thinks the same as news is thin on the ground.
November 14, 2021 at 19:38 #1567622Rob, I’m on up to 210’s on him, so I hope you’re right.
I’m hoping to see him in the entries for The 1965 Chase. If he’s not in there, I’ll start to worry.
November 14, 2021 at 22:07 #1567647Yes, I searched for any news of him, but not a ‘leading stable’ and updates on the stable website are patchy to non-existent. 1965 Chase would be the obvious start point.
November 27, 2021 at 13:54 #1569401I think that Fiddlerontheroof will run very well today so I’ve taken 33-1 ew
December 6, 2021 at 12:24 #1571034I’ve decided to bet Al Boum Photo here at 25/1.
I do realise that there’s no positive signs that he’ll be coming here, and he’ll probably go to Tramore, but I put a few euros his way
December 11, 2021 at 18:21 #1571961Al Boum Photo is an interesting shout Autumnal, but I’ve had a second bet, and it’s Saint Calvados at 25-1 ew
December 13, 2021 at 21:29 #1572351Backed Saint Calvados as well, boosted to 28/1 with Ladbrokes. He ran well in this last year and has good previous form, such as splitting Min and A Plus Tard in the Ryanair. I suppose A Plus Tard his improved since then, so maybe that form should not be taken literally but he still has a fair chance and maybe Nicholls can draw out some improvement.
December 14, 2021 at 23:32 #1572549Disappointing that Royal Pagaille has been scratched, and assuming that Midnight Shadow surely doesn’t go, then I’m looking for an outsider to add to Dashel Drasher.
As disappointing as the withdrawal of Royal Pagaille is, trying to console myself that the long range forecast wasn’t in his favour anyway. Problem with that is it doesn’t really suit Drasher either.
More than happy to add another, and considered re-betting Frodon, but having already laid him for a profit, it just seemed a bit daft.
It’s probably just as daft as betting Tornado Flyer. He seems tripless, and for such a switched on yard, they seem unsure as to what do with them, and there’s also the small matter of his Savills entry. More than enough negatives then, and even if he did go, which seems unlikely, he’d probably be ridden for a place.
He did however, really catch my eye in The John Durkan, and I think he’s screaming out for this trip. On that run alone, I’m willing to take a chance at the odds.
Dashel Drasher 66’s EW/210’s
Midnight Shadow 220’s
Tornado Flyer 120’s -
