Surprised Believing is relatively short for this given she only won a listed last time in a race fell apart. Be surprised if lighning struck twice, unless it’s the Rogue version.
June 17, 2024 at 16:17 #1698188tbh Yes the race at Haydock did “fall apart”, Stilvi. But even if not rating ANY of the other horses as running to their bests, you can take massive positives from how Believing did it.
Went through the early stages of a strongly run 5f so comfortably… And we know she stays 6f well, so a stiff 5f like Ascot should be ideal.
Acted well on the sound surface and showed a pointy toe action that should be best on good-firm.
Won the race with even more in hand than the 2 3/4 lengths suggests.
…And you don’t need to even believe she improved, just that the horse is back to form. Last year finished just 3/4 length behind Regional in the Sprint Cup… And Regional is disputing favouritism for this race on the basis of that run… And there could easily be some improvement to come from Believing. Only a 4 year old after all… And (a massive plus imo) the trainer is in fantastic form, 5 wins in his last 7 runners. Albeit none more than 15/8.Get on!
Value Is EverythingJune 17, 2024 at 17:04 #1698193It’s a she. She might need all of that 3lbs! To be fair that Haydock race is the only bit of Group 1 form she has got – she went off 66/1 – and it turned into something of a bun fight. Unless Big Evs takes a step forward then it does look a weak division.
June 17, 2024 at 18:22 #1698204Regional ew 4 places. Would need the run before a trip to Ascot trainer reported pre race in Ireland and the way he ran there he was likely going to be my pick for this if the rain stayed away.
June 17, 2024 at 19:32 #1698214TWILIGHT CALLS 11/1
Last chance Saloon to win a Group one race it is even though Candy had no winner in 2024 what a race to do it
June 17, 2024 at 20:10 #1698219I’m going e.w with Equality , has to step up on previous form but I was at Musselburgh when he won , he looked an absolute monster in the paddock , this doesn’t look the strongest renewal so I’m happy to have a go at a pricw
June 17, 2024 at 21:11 #1698227You’re a hard one to please, Stilvi.
Horses are not machines.
Of the record below take the runs out where she’s been slowly away and also the one run on unsuitable ground. What have you got?As a three year old Believing…
WON a listed race at Chelmsford last April.
WON a Chantilly Group 3 race.
11th of 12 again in France, having got upset in the stalls and very slowly away.
WON a listed race giving weight all round including to older horses.
3RD, only beaten 3/4 length in the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup.
11th of 15 on unsuitably Soft ground in the Champion Sprint. As a four year old she was…
9th of 11 in Hong Kong after being the slowest away.
Won the Achillies Listed race with a lot in hand last time out.I’d say there is every reason to believe Believing can run at least to the form of the Sprint Cup and may improve on it, if she gets a reasonable start.
Value Is EverythingJune 18, 2024 at 10:14 #1698302I was on Believing before but this is much tougher same with Big Evs. Kerdos for me he run well in a 5f handicap here last year.
The more I know the less I understand.
June 18, 2024 at 10:26 #1698308Wont be betting or laying in this as im finding it difficult to work out, id say it should probably be 6s the field, just be hoping big evs steps forward and wins it well hopefully
June 18, 2024 at 12:41 #1698352Believing 9/1 – WIN(Paddy Power freebet last night)
I really think this could be the year when we see her at her very best.
She is up against it with Big Evs today so doing a Rev.Forecast also.
Best of luck.

June 18, 2024 at 15:43 #1698411Rogue Lightning without 2 favs at 17/2.
Will forgive the last run as the ground was against him and looked like he needed the run anyway.
He was extremely impressive in the Abbaye last season.June 18, 2024 at 15:44 #1698412Small stakes pot on a couple of outsiders

Value Is EverythingJune 18, 2024 at 15:57 #1698416wd winners. Regional ran his race. Trainer says he should’ve gone for the Ascot 6f. But he’s a 5f stiff track/6f quicker track horse on nice ground. At least that’s what the trainer’s been telling us all year. He’s just gutted i expect which is understandable.
June 19, 2024 at 01:19 #1698528Very impressive win by the Australian horse. The ground came good for that daisy cutting action.
Well done if anyone backed her and to all with places at least some compensation.
Good run from first 4 home IMO.
