I was thinking of taking the day off on Monday and going to say hello to my old friends standing on upturned beer crates at Kempton. I’ve just checked the admission prices and am guessing they don’t want to see me.
Eighteen notes for tatts on a wet Monday? Is that the going rate these days? It’s been a while.
Any tips on cutting the cost? The ISIC card I purchased from a Bangkok street vendor has expired, so I guess the student rate is out. If I tell the guy on the gate that I’m Paul Struthers’ best friend will they let me in gratis?

Price is outrages, and only goes reasonable between January and April, so unless you’re planning to pay full admission, I’d suggest you make sure your friends have a Teli with RUK.

I’d just pay the thing, you’d pay £18 on two pitchers and packet of fags at weatherspoons anyway.
I’m sure Fist will have a few tips for you on earning your entry fee back.
November 18, 2010 at 17:33 #328518Glenn, going to Kempton to meet old friends standing on upturned beer crates,
name em.
November 18, 2010 at 18:51 #328527I’ll give you a clue. One of my old mates has a double christian name and it’s not Paul Roy.
C’mon Barry, no need to take things the wrong way. What do you say we recreate that classic scene from ‘bookies never lose’? The one from the Epsom evening meeting, with me playing the punter and you as yourself. Let’s liven up a dull Monday.
November 18, 2010 at 19:09 #328530Barry can you employ this man to carry your things into the course then sack him as soon as you get in, that should help with the free entry.
November 18, 2010 at 21:50 #328565Glenn, park in staff car park, (silver ring), carry satchel, tell gate man your with barry dennis.
no problem
November 19, 2010 at 18:17 #328681Kempton and Sandown, rip-off merchants for admission prices. Sandown had the audacity of charging £26 to enter the members enclosure for their first meeting of the year a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn’t even one of their principal days, crazy.
