I had to google it while we were waiting for our dinner to arrive just to make sure I wasn’t being had on, and it turns out she was indeed correct. I’d always thought addiction just meant something you couldn’t stop doing, but by definition it actually involves negative consequences on ones life.

Of course, they would not dream of protesting at their beloved Glastonbury, an event which must use quite a lot of oil and where celebrities fly in by helicopter.
There was a picture doing the rounds on social media earlier this week showing some JSO professional protestors packing away their equipment – into a Range Rover. Somehow I doubt it was an electric version.
As a baby boomer I feel my generation spent its childhood and early adulthood being told what to do by older generations, I must have blinked and missed the bit where we were in indisputable control and now we’re being told what to do by too many elements of younger generations.
Well, I’m not having it – this is my time, I’ve waited long enough for it and I’ll do as I please – and I suspect I’m not alone in that sentiment.
I’m now off to the nearest petrol station to demand a tank of EXTRA-LEADED fuel.

There can hardly be a regularly held event in the country that uses more oil overall. Brandon Flowers, who as far as I know lives in the USA, went there for one song with Elton John. Well, half really as they shared the vocals. I’m not criticising, but I’m not a member of JSO either.

Fun* fact, it’s less than two years since leaded petrol became a thing of the past with Algeria being the last country to phase it out in 2021.

I find it quite cathartic to have that kind of borderline “Falling Down” moment rant occasionally and I’m back to normal now and able to assimilate “fun” facts.
