Sorry if I have offended but why should I keep quiet when reading how the overwhelming majority of trainer and jockeys are straight.
    Why should I not ask

    Silvoir

how many jockeys and trainers directly contact him and the BHA about their problems regarding corruption. How many of those who have served bans asked for help prior to being found out?
I also wanted to know whether they have a chat with the numerous apprentices and young jockeys who leave the industry or move abroad. And if not, why not. Training is expensive, including medicals. What a waste.
I have not had a reply from

    Silvoir

. Perhaps that’s one statistic not kept regarding direct jockey and trainer informants, and they do not have the time questioning leavers.
You suggested that I might possibly profiteer from information given. I found that a little offensive. I also thought the remark from

    Silvoir

"I won’t wait up.." unnecessary, but there you go.
You must know I can’t substantiate what has been said but I have suggested that recordings of conversations could be made and saved on mobiles.

There is a difference between not being at liberty to substantiate and not being able to do it. There are many things we could say and verify( if we had the permission of our source to do so.)Journalists reserve that right(not to reveal their source) to themselves and we accept what they acclaim as fact. They say that the argument from authority is the weakest of all arguments. But in the final analysis many times that("take my word for it") is all that remains to us .

A very well known English long distance runner reported that the sport was rampant with drugs. She was being constantly beaten by those she claimed were on drugs. The authorities asked her to name those on drugs .She refused, claiming that all she could do was indicate which way the wind was blowing and that it was up to the authorities to take it from there. They did nothing. She reconsidered. Thereafter she was rarely beaten.Whistle blowers usually get hung out to dry.

Is it a personality trait of the ‘gambler’ that we stumble through life constantly seeking perfection in all aspects of our lives? Would we be truly happy in an ‘ideal World’? I think not.
If everything was predictable, untainted and free of chance and danger where would that leave us? Somewhat bored, perhaps?
How come we expect racing to be any different from the thousands of other things that are happening in the World around us. Everything is pitted with corruption, double-dealing, untruths, hidden agendas, dishonesty, etc., all of which impinge upon our daily lives to some degree or other, but which, despite our moans and murmurings we accept as the harsh reality of life? It’s the nature of being human that none of us is perfect.
And yet, here we are expecting, no, demanding horse racing to be squeaky clean and above board. Forget it, it’s just not going to happen. Everyone is still going to carry on their daily routine of ‘fiddling’ or to be fairer ‘playing the game’ regardless of the constraints and restraints applied by the authorities.
Accept things the way they are and just get on with it.
