With Willie leading the trainers title and now potentially sending the likes of El Fabiolo, Gaelic Warrior & IEP to Sandown (whereas in previous years they would have bypassed Sandown and gone straight to Punchestown) it certains means that it will not require ITV to over egg bigging the day up.
The Bet365 Gold Cup could even be relegated further to an after thought of a race if Willie wins the Oaksey Chase (£45k to the winner) and Celebration Chase (£96k to the winner) which likely would put him out of reach with the Bet365 Gold Cup being worth £95k.
We could also have the real Queen Mother Champion Chase (aka the Celebration Chase) if El Fabiolo, Jonbon, Edwardstone, Gaelic Warrior and Captain Guinness all stand their ground.
Stranger things Ginge – but yes, I would imagine it will be one of the two Mullins horses running (the other probably goes to Punchestown).
Hendo seems intent on going and I could easily see Edwardstone running (seeing as they have been watering to keep the going from going quicker than good), he has won multiple times on good to soft and even good back in his novice hurdle days so may appreciate the better ground.
Not sure about Captain Guinness as he has won his G1 (the most important race of the season) and got most (if not all) of his luck to do so – has been well held previously against the big two.
Oddly, Boothill and Nube Negra are the only ones currently jocked up in the RP so it would be fair to assume that they are intended runners.
No surprise Nube Negra is running. Skelton has to run anything with half a chance to have any hope of overtaking Mullins.
