A 6l win for Mille Chief, drawing further and further clear, having never really come off the bridle was perfect.

Just confirmed what was thought at the time. Mille Chief would have been a wide margin handicap hurdle winner without Aegean Dawn. You can bet your life that would have been a 15lbs (and more) rise if Aegean Dawn had not been in the race.
Instead of playing around with draw numbers at BHA towers, jockeys names being printed on the racaecard, it would be good if they reviewed the penalty system immediately. In that situation, it provided an "unfair" race – Mille Chief would have had to be a very special horse to win that race, and he’s not what you would call "average" anyway.

ETTRICK MILL
DUBAI LEGEND
WOGAN´S SISTEROther
– nothing needs adding. It does qualify but look who trains it?
And
with one more bad run will qualify.

And I’m laughing at that for many different reasons…..

January 10, 2011 at 23:46 #335381Tuesday’s Qualifier
Plenty of other horses very close to qualifying who could be due for standard improvement in form enquiry tomorrow.
If anyone thinks I’ve missed one post below as I may have been distracted by the McDonalds advert on the RP!

January 12, 2011 at 21:56 #335624Jose, did Ponting come anywhere near to being a qualifier for tomorrow? If anyone can give a logical explaination for the horse dropping from 65 to 54 in it’s last 4 runs for tomorrow’s race I’d be interested to hear!
January 12, 2011 at 22:18 #335631Yes, Ponting is going to be a qualifier, even though I’ve given it many chances.
Won at Southwell nearly a year ago.

– avoids on the beaten 5l run, might be interesting.
January 13, 2011 at 20:07 #335772I’m not going to regret putting
up in the "Others" category. It qualifies under the strict terms, but really it doesn’t.
Really a horse like that is more comparable to the "shown hardly any form, running in handicaps, so might improve" thought train.
I await the "we’re holding no enquiry into its improvement as the trainer said it was well suited to the quality of the Kempton air."
January 13, 2011 at 20:24 #335775The Stewards considered the apparent improvement in form of the winner, SAN DENG, ridden by J. Colliver and trained by M. D. Hammond, compared with its previous run on the 13th November at Wetherby where it finished unplaced, beaten approximately fifty two and a quarter lengths. However, having received a report of the trainer’s explanation that the gelding had benefited from a drop in its handicap mark and the rider’s ten pound allowance today, they decided not to hold an enquiry.
There’s a good reason not to hold an enquiry. The BHA handicapping team got it wrong, in other words. At least the stewards were happy to accept that……
January 13, 2011 at 22:53 #335788Friday’s Qualifiers
RAIMOND RIDGE
Others
(Never been good enough to win a race on all known form; out of the handicap)
(Out of the handicap)
(Britain’s worst trainer)
(Maiden who was overrated)
Aside from those who do qualify, and have still have no obvious chance,
might be able to exploit some ridiculous rating dropping. First run back for 6 months only beaten 4l on the most tiring racing surface in the world. It looks an interesting race for many reasons…..
January 14, 2011 at 12:24 #335814Just an update on the air quality at Kempton…..
The Stewards considered the running of the winner, APPYJACK, ridden by Luke Morris, and trained by Tony Carroll, which had never previously been placed. They interviewed the trainer, who stated that APPYJACK was having only its second run for him and seemed to be a slow maturing colt who is now coming to hand. They forwarded his comments to the British Horseracing Authority, so that the performance of APPYJACK in his earlier races could be reviewed.
January 14, 2011 at 15:51 #335831This can still be updated in-time for the other qualifier at Lingfield who shouldn’t have been missed off…..

Trying to jump through the top of the stalls probably didn’t help his chance.
January 14, 2011 at 19:39 #335863Chance gone immediately, even in a slowly run race. It looked a mess on paper beforehand with Barney Curley VS horses who had more zeros than his stable combined.
Silver Linnet managed to break on terms when asked today. Who knows if today was meant to be the day…. I can’t fault the effort with anything obvious.
January 15, 2011 at 08:26 #335913Saturday’s Qualifiers
Not easy to find anything today.
will do.
Enjoy
today. 4lb drop for being beat 145+l………..
