Thanks Nath!
A very disappointing couple of days for the Frankel fillies with Queen Kindly running no sort of race. Funny time of year I guess and some strange results at headquarters this week.
I am going to have one more bet in the last on my friend Johnny G.
£80 win Von Blucher – 11-4 – Newmarket 5.20 loser
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
September 24, 2016 at 17:38 #1264665I had Von Blucher today Joni, and I had him in an each way double with Third Time Lucky. I” usually a single backer only so kicking myself, really thought Blucher was a certainty.
Great winner with Eminent, they are the ones you remember, very well done
September 27, 2016 at 18:34 #1264941Thanks Buckers. That Von Blucher is a frustrating sort as he keeps just getting beat so his handicap mark keeps rising.
I have heard that Swiftsure works well so have had an ew on him tomorrow.
£35ew Swiftsure – 11-2 – Salisbury 1.50 placed

September 28, 2016 at 19:18 #1265018Shame we didn’t get to meet up Joni. Me and Mrsraymo were there Friday and Saturday and like you say the racing was fantastic!!
September 29, 2016 at 13:02 #1265079Joni what are your views on these Gosden horses
DABYAH my 1000 guineas winner from her debut she look a smart filly i rather she go to Newmarket than France
VANTAGE POINT
I know you had winner but thought he shape well on debut and i expect lots of improvement to come from him next year at 3 over middle distances
CROWNED EAGLE
Could say the winner is a decent colt but i thought the way this horse ran no room but ran on strongly to get 3rd was eating up the further he was going i can see him being the number 1 Gosden 3yo at middle distances next year
CORONET
Won very well on debut at Leicester had race won early enough was dossing at the line and looks like she go 1m4 next year what Gosden say about her
How you rate these prospects
September 30, 2016 at 23:30 #1265250Great 3 days at Newmarket Joni and Saturday provided lots of excitment with Lady Aurelia turning out and reportedly having bled after being beaten by Brave Anna and Roly Poly (Queen Kindly 4th) and then Mehmas and Blue Point getting turned over by The Last Lion, but have to say that had you been at the paddock Joni both Blue Point and Mehmas were negatives although Blue Point is the most stunning looking horse and I think you can discount that run because of his negative, he will be back with a vengeance.
I got out of trouble with Best Of Days and the last winner Salateen but the notebook horses were definitely in the first race Talaayeb and Neshmeya both looked race fit in the paddock whereas the Blue Bunting filly Blue Illusion looked as though she needed the race, very small and compact like her Dam.Off to Newmarket again tomorrow for the Sun Chariot and I think I’m going for the French filly Volta with a little each way on Irish Rookie as she seems to find her form around this time of year and you never know with the results that have been coming in lately.
What a great price you got for Eminent Joni, well done. I only managed 13/2 for the Frankel Flyers Thread but still making a good profit on all his runners this year. What an achievement from our boy

Hi Darren – sorry for late reply. I’ve been here, there and everywhere this week. To be honest I like all of these! That Crowned Eagle is from the same family as Wings Of Desire isn’t he? Very promising. We’ll learn more about Dabyah on Sunday but she certainly couldn’t have been any more impressive last time. Vantage Point got a very positive mention from Ken Patterson in the Weekender this week. He was most taken by him. I wouldn’t be surprised if Coronet is JG’s Fillies Mile horse. All very promising mate.

October 1, 2016 at 09:47 #1265292Jac and Nath – very funny!!!! Jack – that Talayeeb was really impressive wasn’t she? She could be named the winner a long way out. I wonder what the level stakes profit is for backing the second colours in maidens? I bet it’s high – Sir Henry used to do it all the time! Have a great day at Newmarket today and I really hope your fav and mine Shalaa is ready to do himself justice. I hear he might just need it….. I am going to a bloody museum with the kids!!!!
I was very tempted to back Volta but changed my mind to go for a horse trained by the number 1 trainer this year – JC Rouget. I have had quite a few bets – no time to go in for explanations today so will just post them. Have a good days punting everyone!!!

October 1, 2016 at 22:21 #1265377Not a great day but a couple of ew’s mean not too much damage was done. I have a couple of big bets tomorrow. In the Arc I am all over the brilliant Postponed. This horse is bullet-proof as far as I am concerned and has everything in his favour tomorrow. I have had a couple of ew’s as well as I think Highland Reel could run a nice race from the front and New Bay has been trained for the race my a master. I have a feeling that So Mi Dar is one of the best middle-distance fillies of recent times and I think she will win in a canter tomorrow. In the Prix Boussac I am obviously hoping Toulifaut can do the business and I also like Senga who was impressive last time.
£75ew Toulifaut – 7-2 – 1.10 Chantilly loser
£25ew Senga – 16-1 – 1.10 Chantilly loser
£500 win So Mi Dar – 5-6 – Prix De L’Opera loser
£400 win Postponed – 15-8 – Arc loser
£35ew Highland Reel – 20-1 – Arc placed
£35ew New Bay – 12-1 – Arc loser
£5ew Treble"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

October 3, 2016 at 01:09 #1265498Don’t worry Joni two big weekends coming up and Shalaa will get it all back for you in a couple of weeks when he wins the Champion Sprint.
Did you hear Gosden say on Saturday that he was only 80% fit and Frankie didn’t touch him once with the whip, he looked a knockout and next to Frankel, Frankel…did I say that word again LOL he’s our favourite.
Blue Point was a negative LTO and didn’t get the best of runs, he will strip much fitter on Saturday in the Dewhurst back on the Rowley Mile.
Off on holiday in a few hours until 12th October so missing Future Champions Day (If only I could beam myself over for Friday/Saturday (do you think Dave would notice
).Jim Crowley booked to ride Gifted Master in the Challenge Stakes on Friday and Sobetsu running in the Fillies Mile. Great times ahead lots to look forward too …Jac

Jac and TAPK – sorry for not replying sooner but have been licking my wounds after La Merde Dimanche!!! As I will now forever refer to that horrible day. Nothing went right did it? Toulifaut was completely taken out of the race, Senga finished like a train but was given too much to do, So Mi Dar was baulked at a vital time and Postponed didn’t run his race. I have often said one must be wary of French racing and yet I chucked away half of my hard-earned profit on it. You have every right to be disappointed TAPK but not half as disappointed as I was.
Anyway that is racing and we are still just about ahead so a strong finish to the season is what is required. I start today at Newmarket with a couple of bets and hoping tomorrow will be even bigger with a very nice Frankel running in the Dewhurst.
