Hi Joni…it’s been a long week, I know you mean Seven Heavens in the 2.30 Ascot (Heaven Sent is the mummy!!!!)
Good Luck I think they both have great chances and can’t wait to see Cunco in the flesh, think I better get some of that 9/2 pretty quick..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 8, 2016 at 13:42 #12548642 Frankel colts who should go well.
£80 win Heaven Sent – 13-8 – 2.30 Ascot
£150ew Cunco – 9-2 – Superlative Stakes Newmarket (Saturday)That Superlative stakes looks interesting Joni. I feel the favourite, South Seas may be vulnerable on this very different going.
He did hose up by 8 lengths that day but the form hasn’t panned out and runner up Winning Ways was pretty disappointing next time.
I’m swithering between War Decree and Boynton myself. I’ll probably side with the O’Brien horse, who should step up markedly on his promising debut win.
Cunco should go close though.
Good luck with these.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

July 8, 2016 at 20:27 #1254911Thanks Jac – yes it’s been a long week. He did it well though didn’t he?! Yes Steve it looks a good race tomorrow with plenty under the category “could be anything”. The vibes from the Gosden yard are very good about Cunco and the form of the Chesham is bound to be strong. I just hope they let him stride out tomorrow as I think he is a true miler – looking forward to seeing how he goes anyway.

July 8, 2016 at 20:50 #1254914Will be listening from afar but a couple of really good races tomorrow. I think the July Cup looks the best sprint race for many years. Any one of 7 or 8 could win it so I am going to have a little ew on a couple that I really like and who have conditions to suit. Arod is a favourite of mine and I am puzzled as to why he isn’t running in the Summer Mile Stakes. But his trainer knows what he is doing so 40-1 is decent value about a class horse. I am also a fan of Washington DC on this sort of surface and 50’s is too tempting.
Over at Ascot there are two class horses running in the Summer Mile. Toormore and Dutch Connection are both good enough to hold their own in Group 1 company and both should go well. I already have Cunco in the Superlative.
£25ew Arod – 40-1 – July Cup lost
£25ew Washington DC – 50-1 – July Cup lost
£75ew Toormore 5-1 – Summer Mile placed
£75ew Dutch Connection – 6-1 – Summer Mile lost

July 10, 2016 at 08:03 #1255246Nemoraliah gets her conditions today. I think she is classy and will take some beating.
£100 win Nemoraliah 15-8 – Prix Jean Pratt lost

Thanks Nath I needed that! Yes it always pays to read the gallops reports. Parfait is a certain winner next time as well.
On to today and I am on horses in 4 races. Frankel has his first runner in Ireland and Lightening Fast has all the right credentials being a son of Cheveley Park winner Lightening Pearl. He has the O’Brien colt to beat amongst others but that one showed little first time out and I am confident mine will have too much speed. I thought Charming Thought ran a blinder after a long absence last time, staying on really well and not being given a hard race. Godolphin are a different proposition this year and this one should go well. Pretty much same comments apply to Scottish who isn’t a big price but should win this – he has always been a fav of mine. And finally I am taking on the fav in the Irish Oaks. I have always liked Ajman Princess since I saw her on her debut at Newmarket. Remarkably she is yet to win a race but I think it is significant that her shrewd trainer has supplemented her for this race rather than win something easier elsewhere. She might not win but she is ultra consistent and could run into a place. I am also willing to give Architecture another try. Hugo Palmer thinks the world of her and I think you can put a line through her last run as it came too soon after the Oaks.
£80 win Lightening Fast – 7-4 Curragh 2.55 lost
£80 win Scottish – 7-4 – Newbury 3.00 winner
£50ew Charming Thought – 9-2 – 3.35 Newbury lost
£35ew Architecture – 8-1 – Irish Oaks placed
£35ew Ajman Princess – 10-1 – Irish Oaks lost
£2 win Lucky 30"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

A mixed day yesterday. Lightening Fast was Super Slow, Charming Thought looked outpaced and Ajman Princess went wrong having spread a plate at the start. On the plus side, Architecture ran a blinder and Scottish looks to have taken a further step forward. I have just the one bet today. I was a fan of Hawksmoor last year and she has come back this year and won the German 1,000 Guineas. She has to take on some seasoned fillies and mares today but I think she will go well.
£35ew Hawskmoor – 7-1 – 4.15 Curragh placed

A couple of Hugo Palmer’s running tomorrow that I like. Accento has apparently been working well with Best Of Days who hacked up tonight. And Peru drops to handicap class on a mark of 81. This should see her go close.
£35ew Accento – 7-1 – 6.20 Doncaster lost
£35ew Peru – 5-1 – 8.10 Sandown winner

What a day it should be today. I am taking at least two of the kids along to Ascot to see a really interesting if not classic King George and two little Frankel’s!!
So the bets are in. I think the first race is very competitive and to be honest I like both the Godolphin and the Hannon horse but just couldn’t choose between the two. Frankuus though actually goes into the race with the best form and I think there is reason to think he will run well. When he finished 5th in the Chesham he led all the way and was headed quite early but kept on. If you watch the race he looks like he paddles a bit in the ground and I am sure he will go better on today’s quicker surface. Also that race at Royal Ascot came very soon after his maiden win and I think it is fair to assume he will have improved a fair bit since then. He might not quite have the speed to win it but I think he will give them a run for their money so I have had a little ew.
Fair Eva is going to stamp her class all over the Princess Margaret. Every time I watch her maiden I am more impressed. She really does look a filly of the highest class and I think she will win this with Frankie motionless. I have also relented and backed her for the Guineas. I have had a little ew on How of Aiden’s as she is bred to be special and is surely better than she has shown so far.
The next two races are competitive but I have had smallish ew’s on Mutashry who is highly regarded and didn’t act on the soft last time and Zodiakos for an in-form trainer who believes he has a very well handicapped horse running in his optimum conditions. I am a big fan of Simon Crisford and I think he could have a winner with Mutawathea who has been running consistently well without winning.
In the biggie I have always liked Dartmouth but this is another step up on much quicker ground. I also like Sir Isaac Newton but this seems an afterthought so the one I am on is Wings Of Desire. He was the first horse that caught my eye this season and he won the Dante really well on quick ground. He wouldn’t have been suited by the slow ground at Epsom but still ran well. I like the record of 3 year olds in the recent past and I think he has the class to go close with conditions very much in his favour.
£25ew – Frankuus – 5-1 – 2.10 Ascot placed
£300 win Fair Eva – 4-5 – 2.45 Ascot winner
£35ew How – 12-1 – 2.45 Ascot lost
£25ew Mutashry – 12-1 – 3.20 Ascot winner
£25ew Zodiakos – 10-1 – 3.20 Ascot lost
£25ew Mutawathea – 12-1 – 3.55 Ascot lost
£75ew Wings of Desire – 9-2 – King George placed
££0.5 Lucky 31 (124 bets)
£100ew Fair Eva – 12-1 – 1,000 Guineas"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"

A great day! Wings of Desire ran a fantastic race but was beaten by a better horse and an excellent ride. Frankuus ran extremely well. Having looked like he would be out the back after being outpaced he stayed on best of all and will surely win a listed/Group3 over a bit further and with perhaps more forceful tactics. Mustashry confirmed his Royal Ascot run was all wrong and should win nice races. But for me and the kiddies it was all about Fair Eva and she didn’t disappoint. She is a beautiful looking filly with a lovely temperament and won in the style of a top class filly. The way she cruised into the race a couple of furlongs out was reminiscent of her old man and she put the bed to race really impressively. There is a long way to go to the Guineas but she certainly looks a Group 1 filly. Her only danger could be one of her sisters…….

July 24, 2016 at 15:50 #1257166You won’t get rich backing him but Convey will win easily today.
