Yet another taken away from us too soon at the age of 12 after a two week battle with illness. Although I rarely backed the horse I certainly liked him and was pleased to see him win even though I had done my money. Plagued with injury after his 2010 Irish Hennessey GC win probably means we did not see the best of him. Very sad to learn of this along with other high profile horses Marlborough and Nacarat earlier this week
March 6, 2015 at 17:09 #805946That’s heartbreaking. I always felt he was one of the ‘unlucky’ horses.
Is there any more information? What was wrong with him?
March 6, 2015 at 18:12 #805966Sad to read this, especially on the back of the recent thread about big horses. Good that he won the Hennessey that day. Gosh, we have lost some old friends this past week or so, haven’t we.

RIP JONCOL we will always remember you. Please let Cheltenham week go by without us having to lose any more much loved horses.
Bring them all back sound and safe and of course that also applies to their jockeys.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 9, 2015 at 15:00 #820763Amen to that Triptych
