Glad you enjoyed it Moehat. Its quite superb being so simply put together and yet gripping
I havent seen the doc on Franco by Meades but Ive found him to be just a little tiresome in recent showings. I like documentaries to keep to the subject and not be about the narator
Have seen some good stuff lately at the wonderful Bertha dochouse. Gaza was excellent and more or less even handed although i would pick about a couple of the narrators points. Apollo 11 was remarkable. An absolute must see. Bellingcats was interestig and the Maradona bio as fine as expected from that director. Quietly revealing too. The doc on Steve Bannon is also a must see. Regardless of his views, hes a exceptionally bright but also has an very sharp wit. Revealing again
But one to see on Netflix is Edge of Democracy. About the ousting of the leftish presidencies by the rather repulsive new leader but also so much more and wonderful context on Brazil. This is unmissable and also disturbing
October 12, 2019 at 19:53 #1465773I’ve seen an awful lot of crap films in my time, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a documentary that I didn’t enjoy . Out of the loop film wise as the new dog has taken up 10 months of my life. I found Seahorse incredibly moving but I think it’s probably a documentary that a woman can relate to more than a man, even though it’s about a man. I actually watched it several times.
