What a …. Gosden can be:

Afterwards it was Gosden who seemed the more uncomfortable of the pair. “No-one likes interruptions and no-one likes stuff in the public domain, but there wasn’t a lot of choice,” he said of his decision to go public with criticism of Dettori, before adding: “There’s no need to go on about it, it’s becoming a very boring story and it’s good to be back together, we’re very happy.”

“There’s no need to go on about it”

Shouldn’t have made it public, then.

Gosden is getting tetchy because he knows he was wrong and several of his owners have clearly not backed him.

Maybe so CAS, but I very much doubt that Bjorn Nielsen was one of those owners.

I should point out that the Racing Post has since removed this extract from the report, easily the most interesting part of it.

    What a spineless editorial decision.

Just watched the interviews. Dettori emerged quite well. Gosden was defensive and clearly disliked being asked about the situation. It might be boring to him but it is not to everyone else.

Very poor from the Racing Post.

    “What a spineless editorial decision.”

Sadly, that’s a reflection of the utter sycophancy of the racing media in this country.

Having worked for the Post here’s my guess at what happened.

Gosden phoned up Brough Scott to have a moan about it, Brough Scott phoned the paper he brokered the founding of and got that bit pulled from later editions.

The Racing Post was, is, and always will be about as truly independent as Pravda.

The other jockey gave more of a case for Lezoo than Frankie did…

If there was any justice, she would. But we are talking about British racing, where you can carve up the field and keep the race as long as you win by a neck or more.

I’d feel absolutely robbed if I’d backed lezoo

One of those bumps was massive and only beaten a short distance

    The rules are a joke.

Dawson struck his filly three times despite her clearly drifting away from the whip. He made no effort to keep her straight.

There was a similar incident in the first race at Doncaster yesterday when Harry Davies was nowhere near quick enough to stop his horse drifting and caused interference to the runner up which was only beaten by a diminishing neck.

I believe both Dawson and Davies’s horses should have been disqualified and placed second.
