Any comments on the 5.25? He seems to have gone downhill since he got married!!
February 23, 2009 at 00:10 #211796A fantastic jock, Tonsils.
I would place Jamie in high rank on a historical pantheon of jockeys; indeed, high on an august list of the top thirty jockeys ever. Sir Gordon, Fred A, Billy S. Lester, Pat E, etc. Jamie S. The name fits.
I’ve never seen a jockey who can deliver a horse on the line like he did with Firenze at Newmarket in October 2006. I laid the horse and even I was cheering him home. If I had to bet my last monkey on a horse, it would be a Spencer ridden thing at about 4/1 in a big field.
And really, if I was tucked up with Emma Spencer every night I’d have a spring in my step like a giraffe on steroids.
So get on his mounts this summer, Tonsils, is my unasked for advice.
February 23, 2009 at 02:13 #211828You could also try to keep relevant posts to on the same thread. Incredibly you started 3 threads about 2 races!
Welcome to the forum BTW
February 23, 2009 at 03:47 #211867I agree with max. Jamie is a terrific jock and along with chris they are blessed with the ability to gain maybe 1/2 a length extra out of a horse at the line. The criticism he receives for his drop out style is rarely (I won’t say never) justified. Not all favourates win.
