    Boring?
Its about as interesting as watching paint dry.For the first time ever I have not bothered watching hardly any of it,letting alone putting money on it.
If Mullins & his rich owners continue the way they are going in 20 years time there will be no Cheltenham,no NH racing in the UK.
Like the Olympics where the US win all the medals in everything or the World Cup where one team wins every match 10 nil.

Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

I dont understand this whatsoever redheadbraceman, so what your saying is, willie mullins has 5 coming upto the last in the ballymore, thats boring because there all his? But would make it more exciting if they where 5 different trainers, but they where 5 different owners though and a 66/1 poke got placed? What difference does it make who trained them in that scenario?

What difference does it make who trains them atall, HE RUNS THEM, AGAINST EACH OTHER, theres absolutely nothing to suggest that other trainers would even get them to the race, nevermind make them competitive, if you take willie mullins out this festival, its dreadful and theres nothing to suggest the trainers could do what he does with the horses, should they have had them…

His second 50 has taken far quicker than his first 50 winners; no real surprise – far more races, less competitive racing in that time.

But, only a few sports can support domination…and I’d suggest racing isn’t one of them.

He hasn’t had a winner today and he’s losing in the Mullins v GB market – but there’s a day to go and I don’t find it boring at all.

Every empire has it’s time; Fred Winter in the 70s, with Bula, Pendil, Crisp, Killiney (that really broke my heart, remember watching it live), Dickenson, then Pipe, then Nichols. Agree that none quite achieved the domination of Mullins, exaggerated by the 4 day festival and the increased options, otherwise he seems quite prepared to pitch them against each other.

Lets face it, Willie Mullins is clearly the most hopeless trainer in the game. He’s already sent out 43 (Forty Three) losers this week at Cheltenham, and even if he wins every race tomorrow, there will be another 15 losers.

Fifty eight losers in four days! Any other trainer operating like this and somebody would be reviving that old cliche about throwing enough mud and hoping some of it sticks.

It’s law of averages , he runs that many 1 or 2 are always going to run well , he’s nowhere near as good a David Pipe for instance , he took a horse all the way to Hexhm today and got placed at 1/2 … Mullins can only dream of doing similar

That was embarrassing for Pipe. Finally gets a horse from a high profile owner, sends it the entire length of England to run in an egg and spoon race, jockey gets a flyer and had the run of the race – and still gets beaten.

I was on the winner , taking on Pipe shorties is profitable , Russells horse was just beaten by a nice young horse of Thomsons first time out

I sometimes wonder … if Aiden O’Brien would’ve continued to train over the Jumps rather than making the transition to the Flat, would Mullins still be the dominant force in NH?

I don’t know Rob, but I could imagine that APO would have had similar success while also improving the breed at the same time.

There is one thing I’m wondering about: Do the French sell WP their best horses or the ones with the highest potential and if not why are there so few French runners (I mean none) at the Festival. Their season proper starts later and goes into the month of June, but they might have quite a few horses that would have loved the ground this week while also being very competitive.
