Hi all,
So what do you think, can he get done in the king george?
Is the result a forgone conclusion already or may there be any cracks in Kautos armour.
Ladbrokes best price 11/10 today!! Always a little wary when any bookies looks to take on a red hot favourite, especially them!!
Is he there to be shot at, is it time to lay him?
I really am struggling at coming to a decsision on this one!!
Interesting to hear some views……….
December 23, 2010 at 15:37 #333683Yes, whenever and wherever it goes ahead.
I accept Kauto Star might not be 100% of what he was a few years ago. Defeating a race-fit Sizing Europe and China Rock – both exciting and talented young horses – on seasonal debut shows at least 95% of it is still there. Even this workmanlike win was more impressive than many of his previous reappearances.
Whatever ability he has nowadays, what can beat him?
Long Run? No jockey claim, no Paddy Power win, no thanks.
Alberta’s Run? Still untapped potential for the distance, but McCoy jumped ship, took a pearler last time out. Nowhere near good enough form so far anyway.
Forpadydeplaster? Seconditis. Will he stay?
Everything else is proven to be a long way short apart from Riverside Theatre. Whilst a very promising chaser, he hasn’t hinted at the freakish ability of Kauto yet.
December 23, 2010 at 16:22 #333686Just hope McCoy doesn’t do to Kauto what he did to Denman
December 23, 2010 at 16:37 #333688Well he is the best and classiest horse in the race so it looks a forgone conclusion for me.
Their are some good each way bets though for me.
The Nightingale who won the Pendil Novices at Kempton over 2m4f is open to improve and won well at Down Royal in November.
Forpaddydeplasterer might just be at home over 3m and has the form to boost and could be the surprise package in this contest.
December 23, 2010 at 16:49 #333689Apparently he jumped 40 fences with AP today
That seems a lot!December 23, 2010 at 17:17 #333694Fascinating video of Kauto schooling – he looks much better going right than left handed, when he’s a bit guessy
December 23, 2010 at 18:12 #333699Everyone’s going to blame AP if KS does not win the KG. Won’t be anything to do with AD then?
Value Is EverythingDecember 23, 2010 at 19:21 #333715Certainly Not

December 23, 2010 at 21:26 #333721If
Sizing Europe
,
Albertas Run
, and
Forpadydeplasterer
, turn up and the ground is genuinely good,Kauto Star will face his toughest test to date in the race,i believe if Kauto makes one of his typical howlers its game over! Just remember every bubble bursts at some point and you never know when! Connections are as bullish as i have ever heard them and AP has jumped ship to ride so one would say on paper he looks the proverbial good thing! Call me the merchant of doom!
December 23, 2010 at 21:56 #333722It wouldn’t be Christmas if I didn’t back Kauto to win the King George, it worked the last four times….

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 27, 2010 at 17:46 #333985At odds on I think I have to side against. his reappearance while workmanlike was far below the form he has previously shown – OK it is a reappearance but he just looks jaded to me – Hope I am wrong. Overall there is a reason no horse has won 5 KGs yet and I am not convinced this is going to be the year that record goes. Riverside Theatre is the one for me – Anything 12s and over seems reasonable.
