Can anyone tell me where or how I can get an ante-post price for a horse in this race?
July 6, 2013 at 21:55 #444989I suspect bookies are reluctant to price this up due to uncertainty regarding which horses are likely to turn up. The Epsom Oaks looks grim thus far with six subsequent runs from the contestants throwing up six unplaced efforts including Moth and Banoffee. With Ralph Beckett unsure on where Secret Gesture goes next and Alive Alive Oh having been a non-runner twice on the trot due to ground and being in season and uncertainty on whether improvers such as Riposte can overtake the shakey Epsom form, there are plenty of reasons to be wary about chalking up a book until the muddied waters clear a bit. I’ll probably be looking to take on Talent if, as I suspect, she goes off pretty short on the back of ropey looking form.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 8, 2013 at 20:40 #445153Ah, I see. Thanks then. I’ll keep an eye out for a market.
July 8, 2013 at 20:47 #445154Hammy, Racebets are always first to price up virtually any ante-post race.

Riposte – Lady Cecil 7/2
Alive Alive Oh – Tommy Stack 4/1
Liber Nauticus – Michael Stoute 11/2

Tarana – J. M. Oxx 7/1I looked at the odds there Nathan and despite the prices still being shown there was a "Suspended" notice above when I checked there. Still, it gives us an idea though, so thanks for that.

July 9, 2013 at 16:49 #445230Thanks Nathan.
Will Racebets give me a price for Lady Cecil’s horse on request? For the Breeder’s Cup for instance?
July 9, 2013 at 22:42 #445254Yes. Which race are you looking at Filly and mare turf?

July 9, 2013 at 22:56 #445255I see they have added her to the Ladies Classic at 18/1. Give it an hour or 2 Hammy and they will open a market for the filly’s and mares turf………

July 10, 2013 at 09:15 #445271Perhaps they only do price requests for the race markets they have up as I emailed for a price for Riposte for the breeders cup but didn’t state which race, within the hour she was up for the classic at 18’s but if she does run at the meeting 1000% much more likely to go for the other race so emailed them again for a price for the Filly’s and Mare Turf race but as far no response.

I’m always confused as to which race is which at the Breeder’s Cup meeting Nathan. I think she might go there if running well in the Irish race. I’ll check out which race she’s penciled in for and let you know.
pm for you.

Nathan, do you have to create an account to access the prices? The reason I ask is that every race I seem to look at has "Suspended" written above the odds.
Thank you.

July 10, 2013 at 20:14 #445334Which race/s are you looking at Steve?

It seemed that way with all the ante-post markets I looked at. Perhaps it depends what time of day you are accessing the site?
I had a quick look a few minutes ago and the suspended message was not on the Riposte race where she is 18/1 so that might strengthen my theory regarding the time.
Have you used this firm Nathan?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 11, 2013 at 17:05 #445407When I read your post last night SteveCaution I checked and every race I looked at was fine. I checked again this morning and near enough every UK Ante-post race was suspended. I do have an account with them SteveCaution had 2 bets thus far, I’m always a bit wary of betting sites especially unknown ones and internet transactions so I have a separate debit card for internet use only in which I limit to no more than £100 on the card at anytime just to be on the safe side.

Thanks very much Nathan. I’ll probably stick with the firms I know best and use that site for a guide on ante-post races I’m interested in. Cheers
