…the gap’s down to five. This looks like it’s going to go to the wire.
Considering the length of time Ruby was off after dislocating his shoulder, plus his recent six-day post-Cheltenham ban, I’m surprised Davy Russell wasn’t able to open up more of a lead. It will add another interesting dimension to Punchestown if there’s not much in it there, especially after Paul Nicholls announced his intention today to send over a decent team.
April 9, 2008 at 07:25 #156981Davy Russell had gone to hospital last night with a suspected broken wrist….
April 9, 2008 at 18:03 #157147Hope he’s ok……. one of the best around in the British Isles IMO
April 9, 2008 at 18:35 #157152Goodness, I well and truly jinxed him, didn’t I?! Hope he’s okay.
April 14, 2008 at 23:02 #157822Quite a naive statement considering that a freelance like Russell’s biggest source of winners has been Colm Murphy who has provided 11, whereas Ruby has the firepower of his number 1 stable Willie Mullins behind him, who has provided 43 winners for him, not to mention the 22 from Tony Martin – it kind of helps when you are only on the triers.
