Well played guys with Lord Lariat, smashing pick that.
Grass, completely agree about that pair for The National Hunt Chase
April 18, 2022 at 20:00 #1594464“Lump onto Frontal Assault and Gaillard du Mesnil for next year’s NH chase I’d say.”
Gaillard du Mesnil travelled really well but did not seem to pick up when it mattered. Does he really want to get into a battle? He has the look of a bridle horse to me.
April 18, 2022 at 21:21 #1594478With a very slow pace favouring the front runners, I wouldn’t be too hard on Gaillard Du Mesnil who did best of those coming from further back… Despite ploughing through two out which probably hindered his momentum at a crucial stage – when the whole field was quickening..
Value Is EverythingApril 19, 2022 at 01:26 #1594521Gaillard didn’t come from far back though
He sat just off the front runners the entire race
I’m not sure he stayed personally
April 19, 2022 at 02:56 #1594522Looked like Gaillard stayed to me. With his big weight he just wasn’t able to give over a stone to the front pair.
April 19, 2022 at 05:34 #1594525Gaillard looks very similar to Franco de port and maybe as difficult to place , great feat for the trainer to win 2 nationals on the trot
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026

I agree with this. Also, remember he’s a year younger than most of his rivals in the novice chasing division.
April 19, 2022 at 09:34 #1594533GDM had a tough race at Cheltenham in difficult conditions. He ran a good race yesterday off top weight, effectively. A mistake at the second last cost him second place. I like him a lot and would be keen on either the Ladbrokes Trophy or the NH Chase. Probably more the latter as he was a slow burner this season.
