Asterion will surely get round one of these days but Kemboy is the safer bet , e.w Delta work is getting a bit disappointing but he mayb well be primed for today , inc rev forecast , wonder which minella will turn up today

Well done CAS and all Conflated backers.
    Did anyone get the 50’s?

    Looks a Gold Cup prospect.
Minella Indo’s performance much more encouraging too.

Well done Cork, I didn’t see that coming! Missed the most of the race (sneakily trying to watch it on my phone with the sound off at work) and tuned in coming over the last few not looking closely and thinking jeez Delta Work is jumping awfully well!! Then realised was a different horse!

Reckon the GC has def left it’s mark on Minella , I’m def thinking you need to be looking at the younger horses for the GC

How many horses have won the Irish Gold Cup when attempting to make all?

    I bet it’s no more than 1 from 20.

Still a good job by the pacemaker.

Personally I was delighted with Indo’s run today.

Didn’t seem to have too hard a race there, jumped well and showed there is life in the old dog yet.

He always comes alive at Cheltenham in the Spring and I can see him running a massive race again.

    Agreed Moyenne.
Indo will need to improve on today’s form, but:

    A) The way he races suggests will be more effective than today with the added test of stamina the extra distance and stiffer track the Gold Cup provides.

    And

    B) Is a Cheltenham and Spring specialist.

Got to disagree , if you watch the race he isn’t making any ground at the end , Galvin’s form in beating APT is a lot stronger than this

Agree HDLG, wouldnt be touching indo, or taking todays form with any real weight going into the GC, very poor race, hence why so many people mentioned conflated and the terrible record of shorter priced horses in this

Ill be putting a line through everything today in regards to chelt

Regardless, WD winners, he did that very nicely and jumpred great

This race is a step in the right direction for Indo, surely you can see that given his below par KG run?

Ham, Indo was beaten pretty much the same distance in the race last year as 13/8f and then went on to win the GC.

Step in the right direction after a bad run.

No fancy in the GC yet, but to rule him out seems barmy.

Jack the question is though has the GC left it’s mark , look back over the years and many horses don’t win another race after winning it , as I’ve said in my eyes Galvin’s win is a lot stronger than today’s form , the KG form took a knock with Asertions poor run to ( he actually jumped OK today ) , in my eyes the GC is wide open that’s why I’ve played the younger horses , Galvin is my eyes the most likely winner and already said I’ve played fiddlerontheroof at big prices

You mean the form where course yardstick Kemboy, who was beaten 12 1/2 lengths today, was only 3/4 of a length behind the two principals?

Galvin benefitted from A Plus Tard putting in a substandard effort at a time when De Bromhead’s horses were largely out of form.

APT is still the most likely Gold Cup winner, in my opinion, but Conflated has certainly thrown his hat into the ring with today’s victory.

Glad APT was race fit and no issues raised after the race so I can’t see where you are coming from with that , can’t see any reason why Galvin with the hill won’t beat APT farther in the GC , you may have point reg Kemboy but the KG form has taken knocks and I reckon this race will to , GC is fascinating race now though , honestly 6 or 7 horses could win it and I wouldn’t be surprised
