    This Friday at The Curragh…..

    https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/178/curragh/2020-08-28/765359

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/flat/irish-cambridgeshire/winner

First choice here is Onlyhuman, who I think has a great chance of being in the five.

Five places available right now, and he’s 20’s, but not 100% on doing an Antepost.

    Others on the shortlist…..

    Roca Roma
    Jassaar
    Cyrus Dallin
    Njord
    Saltonstall

    …..so tricky one right now.

I watch the finishing line podcast on YouTube and they have recently started a syndicate

They bought lamloom and sent him to Joseph obrein

Hope he does well for them if running

Surprised to see him not declared FF

Missed the 20’s on Onlyhuman, so I’ll just wait till Final Decs now, as it’s a tough looking race.

A quiet day on the UK front so a chance to look at a a decent race in Ireland coming up. Surprises me that they feel the need to ‘lift’ the name from UK racing though, but ‘tradition’ I suppose.

Obvious complication here but my top 4 are:

    Prisoner’s Dilemma (1st reserve) 125
    Jassaar 113
    So Suave 108
    Trading Point 108

PRISONER’S DILEMMA (50/1 available with Betfair and PP) – Very interesting if this one gets a run. Didn’t get in a serious blow last time from a wide draw but lightly raced and a winner first time up. Competitive nature of that last race puts him clear on my figures.

JASSAAR (11/1 with WH) – Won this last year and looks a different horse at The Curragh. Used a Galway race as a warm up last year and presumably primed for this contest.

SO SUAVE (12/1 Betfair/PP) – Lightly raced progressive three year old. Not far away over C/D last time and looks the ‘right type’.

TRADING POINT (40/1 Betfair/PP) – More speculative than the others but given a chance by the handicapper after a quiet period with his previous trainer. Fair run on first effort for Adrian McGuinness.

I’ll go these four against the field as I can’t find any blatant reasons to ignore any of them. Could be just the three, but with the current weather fair chance something will come out to let the first reserve get a go.

That was my thoughts Rob on Jassaar, he’s very interesting.

Also like the idea of Trading Point, and he’s a nice price.

Onlyhuman best price 11’s unfortunately, so I’m as well holding off for BOG now.

I think that Saltonstall is one for the big occasion, and I’ve taken 12-1.

It’s a strong line up, so I’ve no qualms with betting another. The 6 places which Paddy Power are offering, is enough for me to side with Quizical on those terms, and I think that 16-1 is a fair price. I can easily see him being in the first 4, but 6 places makes it even more appealing.

It’s Quizical for me as well Silver Spoon. I didn’t manage to get the 16-1, but I’m happy with 14-1, and I think that he has a solid chance in this. He should have a lot in his favour here.

It’s not gone exactly to plan so far, seeing as I’d backed Tommy Taylor ante post for this
but he didn’t make it through the final decs. I’ve stuck on a couple hoping I might have
a bit more luck. Breaking Story was drawn widest of all last time out at Gowran Park and
had to tack over behind them all. Made late ground up the rail but didn’t have much of a
chance finishing 8th. He ran a good race in a decent handicap the time before and might have
been a bit unlucky finishing a close 6th. If he can handle this ground he should go close.

High Altitude won well last time out at Killarney and the handicapper hasn’t
missed him with an 8lb rise. Young apprentice takes 10lbs off and he will like the heavy
going. 33/1 with Betvictor seems generous.

    Breaking Story 11/1
    High Altitude 33/1

Finally went with Onlyhuman, but it’s a tough one, and though I took 16’s, it just made sense to go with the extra place as well.

Could go with half of them, and the two who’re really bugging me are Chilean 66’s, and Cyrus Dallin 40’s.

    Onlyhuman 16’s
    Onlyhuman 12’s EW 6 Places

    Very tricky race to assess
    My darts have landed on
Two horses whose last time out wins saw their RPRs go over two stone over their topspeed ratings.
    Flaming Moon
    High Altitude

    Quizical

    Strongbowe

    Desert Wind
has four wins on the all weather at Wolves, Lingfield and Kempton. Could transfer that to a rain soaked track.
There are so many for whom a case can be made.

I’ve put my 50p ews on the two Luke Comer horses, now that they have a trainer.
