    I received a very kind condolence card this morning from the vet who was present at the track when Tourist died. The clerk of the course also sent a letter of condolence to Ian.

    Touches like that remind you how the horse and its welfare really are at the front of the minds of all who work in racing.

    A nice thing for them to do … your horse’s loss does indeed go beyond those closest to him.
