A dismal effort from Mr Mole considering he had won on heavy before. Nicky Henderson had serious doubts about General Miller, on account of the going, before the race, and it makes you wonder why he didn’t pull him out if the vibes were so bad. Maybe his day will come yet on better ground.
It was hard not to be pleased for the winning connections with jockey and trainer on cloud nine, in contrast to so many times we see it is just another winner rolling off the production line for the juggernauts of the sport.
Just a small stakes day, with PCT (Pre Cheltenham Tension) having set in and other factors occupying the mind. The big week to come now before PCD (Post Cheltenham Depression) sets in until Grand National Day.
