Does anyone have any thoughts on this race?

I like Leoncavallo. I’ve taken 8-1, as I think he should be a lot shorter than that.

I also like Hang In There at 18-1, but at this stage I’m going to go with Leoncavallo as my sole selection

I have a small bet on Miss Heritage at 25/1 for this. She caught my eye finishing 2nd to Ajero a horse i like. She ballooned the last and was finishing very strongly. I think a handicap could suit her as long as her hurdling stands up.
She looks fairly well treated with Miranda at half the price and has Dickie first time riding which is no negative clearly. Interestingly he is 1 from 2 for the trainer as well so that hints to me a fairly big run is expected.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!

Not a race I’ve had any particular success with but my top three are:

    Mack The Man 162
    Malaya 153
    Mick Maestro 152

Mack The Man was never put into the race in the Betfair Hurdle so difficult to know what to make of that form. Solid handicap form otherwise, including a couple of chase runs and can put Newbury form behind him.

Malaya won this 2 years ago but hasn’t won since. Keeps running into decent sorts which means she regularly shows up well on my figures. Might be frustrating but the sort who could pop up.

Mick Maestro lost second at Market Rasen principally because he tried to take on a progressive winner, being headed by Miss Heritage, and that form could be under rated. Previous form puts him right in the mix here.

Malaya has been a bit disappointing since winning this but with Cobden now on and a back down to a winning mark I think there,s value , Miranda has top weight but for good reason , while Jack thinks Miss Heritage is fairly weighted against her she gave her a stone and beating previously and won a grade 2 since , she,s solid so played her to , good luck all

Mack The Man for me at 9/1 EW (4 places). Fences clearly wasn’t his thing. But besides that his form over hurdles is 1 – 1 – BD – 1 – 0. He was brought down in last year’ Betfair Hurdle when going well. This year he was never in contention. Now back to Sandown where he has won against Song for Someone and Protektorat and back to soft/heavy ground.

    Mack The Man 9/1 EW.
