Adam Wedge (for the 10lbs off) :)

    Good call.

I’m half tempted to add Gina Andrews as well. Can’t think of too many of her winning rides for Pam Sly that have been absolutely mown into beforehand, despite her knowledge of the yard’s horses she’s regularly kept on and a "busy hands" style that some animals just seem to get on with well.

As you know from Jumping for Fun, I am a big fan of Adam’s and I do hope he goes on to a highly successful career. I’d also include the up and coming amateur John Mathias who travelled far and wide for rides last pointing season and is making a name under rules. Finally, whilst agreeing with Gina Andrews, you forgot to mentioned the underrated Isobel Tompsett who I think is really stylish.

Backing Isabel Tompsett under rules is like printing money Bob – she’s so much better than most other female amateurs and often does well against the pro’s too, watching her is like watching some of the old US jockeys of the 40’s and 50’s, always perched up the horses neck, great to see :)

Proper horsewoman, is Isabel – vet / assistant with Evan Williams, if memory serves, as well as the go-to rider for Beth Roberts in points / hunter chases (Chesnut Annie!!) and increasingly the same for Bernard Llewellyn under rules. Seems to have a good record for the last-named around Newton Abbot, though I need to re-check whether that also manifests itself as a level stakes profit.

Brian/John Llwellyn is Isabel’s boyfriend/partner so she rides plenty for him under rules.

As for LSP if that was the benchmark for Champion Jockey Isabel would be top 5 every year IMO ;)
