Sorry, another far left BBC thread.
I watch the LK Sunday morning politics show to scrutinise her/them, as they do those appearing on the programme, and quite frankly why some of them agree to go on there I’ll never know.
She was interrogating Oliver Dowden and he answered most questions in the calm manner he does.
Towards the end of her interrogation, seeking no joy the programme was devoted to some Gavin Williamson texts. There’s an inquiry going on so he could not really comment, but she said the subject title today as she has done on previous weeks. She is using PoS, the power of suggestion, has no real facts what her viewers might be saying, but trying to influence all the same into thinking that and another negative for the govt.
They want GW to resign in the hope of another domino effect for the latest round of ministerial appointments and to put more pressure on the govt.
They tried it with Braverman and that has failed so far, so are trying ‘other routes’ in the aim.I kid you not a lot of the division and disruption in this country is due to outlets like the far left BBC, and aside from the TV licensee fee itself should disappear from our screens, the political version anyway.
I say 100 years has run it’s course, and I’d like to know what their definition of “Our BBC” is?
It certainly does not include the majority view of this country who don’t recognise them, or trust them anymore.November 6, 2022 at 10:48 #1621961And yet “the left” always claim LK is pro-Tory.
The reality for me is the BBC tries to reflect the current public mood.
And a succession of opinion polls suggest that, by a consistent country mile, they’re not happy with this government.
When the BBC annoys the left and right in equal measure, you know it’s getting the balance right.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 6, 2022 at 10:55 #1621963I just can’t see how the left get annoyed?
I wish they would at least provide some examples.November 6, 2022 at 11:03 #1621964“I just can’t see how the left get annoyed?”
And the left can’t see how the right get annoyed.
The BBC are like Millwall – “no one likes us, we don’t care.”
The truth is both Labour and Tory voters want the BBC to be pro their Party and accuse them of bias when they’re not.
We’ve just had a fiscal catastrophe and the government are 30pts behind in the polls – how else do you expect the public service broadcaster to be with the government?
The BBC has employed people with as diverse personal politics as Lewis Goodall and Andrew Neil – there are many flavours at the table.

I would say with their OUR campaign, they seemed to think they do care, or at least think they are ‘doing it’ for the nation.
“The truth is both Labour and Tory voters want the BBC to be pro their Party and accuse them of bias when they’re not”.
I just want to see balanced interviews. The BBC presenters just can’t help themselves interrupting and arguing with the govt or people on the centre to right.
“We’ve just had a fiscal catastrophe and the government are 30pts behind in the polls – how else do you expect the public service broadcaster to be with the government?”
They have been like this for years since they lost the referendum. They have never recovered, and never will.
“The BBC has employed people with as diverse personal politics as Lewis Goodall and Andrew Neil – there are many flavours at the table”.
Seems lately their presenters are being called out for being biased against the govt as voices are started to be heard.
November 6, 2022 at 11:31 #1621973As a lifelong socialist, I would like to say I can see no evidence of the BBC being on my side.
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysNovember 6, 2022 at 11:53 #1621977Of course the BBC seem bias at present and for a good long period as the govt should be held to account and the Tories have been there 12+ years. It was the same with the Blair govt.
Seems even more biased at present with the complete bollocks they are making of the country.
LK’s wikipedia page is full of alleged bias against both right and left wing.
November 6, 2022 at 12:11 #1621984I do not agree with the critics of the BBC who go as far as wanting to shut it down. That is another example of the cancel culture we could do without.
However, the licence fee is anachronism and should be abolished. It is absurd how in 2022 you still need a licence just to fund one broadcaster that you may not watch.
The BBC should take advertising or become a subscription channel. If it is as important, brilliant, vital and loved as it keeps assuring us it is, everyone will be queuing up to subscribe, won’t they?
November 6, 2022 at 14:05 #1622002Any channel that used Chezza’s licence fee to pay Clare Balding needs to lose public funding, stand on its own two feet and learn to employ people Chezza actually might want to watch and listen to.
