Might have given C Hill a nice lead to the home turn.

Always felt that Mullins and Ricci made the wrong choice in keeping Faugheen to hurdles and sending Vautour chasing – Faugheen had already won a PTP over 3m and warmed up for his Neptune win by winning over 3m on heavy ground at Limerick.

He put in that monster performance in the Irish Champion Hurdle but unfortunately soon after injury prevented him from doubling up in the 2016 Champion Hurdle and whilst he won a further 4 G1 before retirement, I got the feeling that he was never quite the same horse after that injury.

“Might have given C Hill a nice lead to the home turn.”

    THIS.^

And as for emulate Dawn Run – emulate what, exactly?

Just about manage to beat Cima (worst Champion Hurdle runner up EVER?) while getting weight before beating a serial non-stayer in Wayward Lad, again receiving weight?

Some truly great horses have come out of Ireland – Arkle, Flyingbolt, Monksfield and Istabraq to name but four – but Dawn Run wasn’t one of them.

Dawn run was receiving weight from Wayward lad because she was a mare, sex allowance it was known as.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
    Eliminate the negative.
    Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.
