At the moment, kj, the interest on £80,000 is next to nothing.
Why are people giving credence to the assertion that someone has taken out a ridiculous loan to place a ridiculous bet?
The guy’s a wind up merchant.
March 8, 2009 at 06:58 #214296I think you are certifiable, allpress1.
That’s more of a certainty than Master Minded. If there can be degrees in such things.
Not convinced Allpress is telling the truth here.
Your spelling is well dodge, Allpress. How did you manage to secure this house upon which you have gained this mortgage? Are you working in the City?

March 8, 2009 at 13:45 #214310I just hope this bet doesn’t go the same way as your ante-post bet on New Approach for the 2000 Guineas, allpress!
March 8, 2009 at 14:07 #214313This can’t be a serious thread but if it was and were me I wouldn’t risk it all on one horse not even MM.
I’d use up 70K put 25k on Binny 8/5 and 45k on MM. If binny wins then you are 5k up and waiting for another 60k.
If Binny lost and MM won I’d tell the wife I’d remortagaged the house to take her on a world cruise.
Ot alternatively go and see a shrink

Don’t know why ?

March 8, 2009 at 15:00 #214327I was wondering what you plan to do with the other £20k?
Lucky 15 on the Thursday maybe?

March 8, 2009 at 15:15 #214328I was originally thinking this was yet another Aristo alter ego, having fun with us, and I was wondering which horses Fists had championed on the Flat. I then changed my mind, and deleted that. Am now coming round to that way of thinking again.
March 8, 2009 at 16:15 #214336Probably is a wind up merchant, but if he is, he’s doing a dissevice to all the people who do have gambling problems.

Value Is EverythingMarch 8, 2009 at 16:42 #21434180K Mortgage is equivalent to 120k loan including the interest! therefore
"numbnuts" here is actually betting at 1/5 should the horse lose, so his 60k bet is in effect 100k to win 20k as his total outlay if he loses is the total cost of the loan! Even if my maths is out, its not going to happen really!March 8, 2009 at 17:04 #214343At the moment, kj, the interest on £80,000 is next to nothing.

Oh I’m way to clever to be backing MM at 1/3. Fist had 6/4 about the horse twice and for all you know may win more than he would
.No need to wonder which horse I championed on the Flat just go back and read the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe thread. Which incidentally started months before the race when DOM and SOF were all the rage and Zarkava hadn’t run over 1m4f..
March 9, 2009 at 19:32 #214604Is there a brain surgeon in the house.
I have seen in my 30 years as a bettor-umpteen horses beaten-that have been regarded as certaintys & have been stung a few times as no doubt we all have.
Racing is far too unpredictable to be betting silly amounts-& Im sure the post is pish-No way is he getting £80K for betting purposes.
However as a means of getting rid of a Wife you cant be arsed with-Its a great idea & she wont get half your money-the banks will take it all-or the bookies.March 15, 2009 at 20:22 #216549Allpress doesn’t have a wife. Nap.
