Hon Kerr,
Why is McEvoy returning to Australia and Taylor becoming a successful tipster so hard for you to comprehend? McEvoy went back home so Taylor decided to pursue a different avenue…as thousands of people do each year.
Or are you the sort who assumes everything that happens in the world is shrouded in mystery? Can you not accept that things are what they seem?
October 1, 2009 at 17:35 #251088Why did McEvoy leave so suddenly then. Big mystery aint it. Why hasnt Traylor got any other jockey clients, big mystery aint it!

October 1, 2009 at 18:32 #2510981 is always suspicious when a systematic spam torrent hits the net in support of any individual. I wouldn’t be surprised if Taylor aint planning a launch of a tipping line as I type.
How many of his supporters on here are genuine. Strange how supposedly unconnected people know all the reasons about his split from McEvoy and why he aint agenting no more! It gives me untold pleasure to kick a big hole in the cosy media back slapping cartel.
October 1, 2009 at 18:33 #251099Steady on lad, this aint the BF Forum. That kind of petty insult has no merit whatsoever.
You sure that you are not Mrs Taylor or a relative?

October 1, 2009 at 19:28 #251106Well his analysis beats Nick Luck, ‘Himalaya didn’t run badly in the Park Stakes’ I make pulling more than casanova and tailing off a pretty woeful effort.

Call me a genius, but I simply figured out that it is over a year since McEvoy rode in this country and that his agent here would probably have long since found something else to do with his time.
I would also speculate that McEvoy’s return to Australia had something to do with his being, errmmm, Australian.
As for this all being just a media love-in, this forum does not have enough bandwidth to carry my disenchantment with some sections of the fourth estate.

Nick Luck was or is an actor was he not? As far as I know he has never promoted himself as any sort of a judge on equine matters. He is simply paid by RUK to come across as the Lord Snooty Jools Wilsonesque Public School chappie that the masses associate wiv da

Tell me this Prufrock how mucha re the likes of Paul Keely, Matt Williams and the other "experts" at the RP on in your opinion. I have always wondered whether or not their wages are dwarfed by their betting T/O.
If you don’t know, don’t be shy just give me a guesstimate
October 1, 2009 at 19:53 #251115Hon Kerr,
I see you are a new member on here. You haven’t recently left, or been asked to leave, another forum have you?
October 1, 2009 at 19:54 #251116Wasn’t Kerrin offered the job riding Godolphin horses in OZ?
Honk, not everyone is cut out to be a professional punter.
Hugh has a young family and I doubt if there would be enough security in the profession. A guaranteed regular income from writing would be the much safer bet, don’t you think?!

McEvoy does basically have that job. The Sheik Mohammed owned Australian horses go under the "Darley Australia" banner rather than Godolphin and run in the maroon silks. Really there’s no difference though. I’m looking forward to seeing how the Australian Darley horses get on in Dubai and over here in 2010. For McEvoy I’d say it was a pretty good career move given how Godolphin were doing at the highest level at the time and how he now gets to ride some of the best horses in Australia.

October 1, 2009 at 20:50 #251131Name the people on this thread who personally know Hugh Taylor.
I’ve never met the bloke, and I’d be surprised if "most" of the people on this thread have, either.
You sound like a bitter man, Honk.
October 1, 2009 at 21:45 #251139Hon, you seem to be being tad un-fair here. Of course people in the media are going to be under some scrutiny but there is more than enough evidence to see that Hugh is doing his job well and for the people who follow in his advice at or around the adviced prices should be doing just fine also. His column is thought provoking and insightful, far better than ringing up Thommo to be told to lump on the jolly at Newmarket which has been doing back flips on the gallops.
Unfortunately it seems so many people can not approach this great sport with out scepticism, funny how no one ever questions the likes of Jeff Stelling and Ian Botham for offer up tips and insight in their chosen sports.
And no, I don’t know Hugh Taylor.
