Definite early bet for me with Sam Brown here. Mentioned last month that I wanted to see him come here for this, and happy to see him at least get an entry. His marks fine, fair in fact, and trainers got precious in this.

The other pair to catch my eye are Moroder and up in trip, Do Your Job, but hoping for a one bet race here

    Sam Brown 25’s

He could easily do a Shishkin, but I’m taking the 33’s just now on Larry. Reliable as hell this one. Just as well it’s a free bet then

No real shock to see Sam Brown not go, and just wished I could have cashed him out.

Spoon, that’s a great price on Larry, and as he’s a horse I’ve bet a couple of times, he’s the one I’ll be looking at now.

Given his refusal to start last time, I’ll just leave him till Final Decs, but should he start, I reckon he could go well

At around 20-1 I can’t let Switch Hitter go without a bet, and I’ll just go for on the nose

Its a funny race because Victtorino and Blackjack Magic both won good handicaps (in value terms) last time, neither have gone up loads in the weights but they’ve gone from carrying under 11 stone last time (10.02 for Blackjack Magic) to being right at the top of the weights. In handicap mark terms this looks weaker than last time for both but I think there are younger more unexposed horses in this than their last contests who they have to give weight to and its intriguing.

I’ve also backed Switch Hitter Lemons, hasn’t got many miles on the clock, nice run here last time which was his first since February. Looked to me like he’d come on for the run late on. The winner who he was giving a lot of weight to was thrown in on his best form and has won again. He will enjoy the ground if it stays dry and he’s open to improvement after 7 runs over fences. Open contest, he’s got at least a squeak.

I couldn’t split Flegmatik 12-1 and Flash Collonges 14-1, so I’ve bet both of em

I thought Victtorino won with loads in hands last time. Only gone up 4 pounds, surely a big chance to win again. I think the same of Hascoueur Clermont. I think he had a little bit more up his sleeve when winning at Cheltenham last time. That form has been franked by Chambard winning the Becher. With Conor Stone Walsh riding he is also only 4 pounds highter in the weights.

    Victtorino 5/1
    Hascoueur Clermont 10/1
