I popped into Tesco today to buy some shopping and was looking around my van for a pound coin to put into the trolley, but found a one euro coin instead.

Now being a well travelled supermarket shopper, I knew that a one euro coin will work the same as a pound coin, for releasing the trolley from its trolley park.

Now this is where my buisness brain came into action.

One euro is worth about 75 pence.

So when I went to return my trolley to its trolley park, I simply asked the bloke who was about to get his trolley, and said, "give us a quid mate and you can have this one".

The deal was done, and I earnt myself an extra 25 of the Queens pennies for doing nowt.

Now if I can get hold of 40 one euro coins, then I can earn myself an extra tenner.

    Genius!

<br> P.S. Keep it to yourself.;)

    They nick anything around here.

But dont despair. I have better news……….

    It even works with 50cents.

Thats over 60 pence per deal.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I actually got "stung" with the very same stunt in France many years ago.

Pre Euro you used to need a 10F coin (about £1) to get a cart at the Hypermarket – I gave a 10F coin to this chap returning his cart in the car park. When I finished shopping I took the cart back only to have a British 2p coin returned.

After my initial anger and wishing to kick the devious Frog half to death (I was slightly more tolerant in those days) I did actually see the "funny side" later and I ended up thinking – "OK you clever little git, more fool me for being so trusting."

    Kautostar1.

I know its genius isn’t it.

I cannot however let you know how much I have earned as the court case forbids me from doing so.

I have to say this is really funny.

Unfortunately (I think) we don’t have to put a pound in the trolley up here so it would never be a ‘get rich quick’ scheme for me.

Have you tried any other currency LM, I’m sure you could make more than 60p per trolley if you really shopped around
