To put it politely none of your damned business
January 15, 2008 at 16:21 #135318Agree….
One of the nice things about this forum is that no judgement is made and little is disclosed about how much is bet/lost/won or whatever
I think its important to keep it that way. No reason to respect a £10k punter more than a £10 punter. Its what they have to say that matters
and anyway…who was betting on such on awful day ?
January 15, 2008 at 16:26 #135323I’ve done my bollox cause of those so called friggin expert tipsters on the Racing Post !
January 15, 2008 at 16:33 #135325mansun,
i am still kind of hoping you might get tired of the forum before the forum gets tired of you.
i have absolutely no objection to forumites posting prolifically, providing they have something constructive, interesting or amusing to contribute.
sadly, you appear to be an ’empty vessel’, albeit an empty vessel about which i now know far more than i’d ever want to.
perhaps you could please keep the noise down a little?
many thanks,
nvJanuary 15, 2008 at 16:39 #135332Funny how "racing people" are so flummexed when somebody disagrees with them. Let me guess, you support fox hunting and read the daily telegraph????
It’s like you know me already…
January 15, 2008 at 17:05 #135345My hunch is the people running this forum want as much activity as possible to support their claim to be the biggest betting forum in the land.
Mansun, if you’d read a little further, you would have noticed that there is an additional claim about the site being "informative".
Quite how you plan on "informing" anyone, with a post about how much you/they won/lost today, is beyond me.
January 15, 2008 at 17:11 #135349Agreed, GH – Corm et al will take fewer posts that have something to say any day of the week over more posts that have to say something.
I’m sure many of us delight in the sharing – and share in the delight – of finding winners, etc (ta for the kind words re: my Pierse tips btw, Marb). Of course they do – there wouldn’t be any tipping contests on the site at all otherwise. Revealing totals of pounds, shillings and pence to the world and his wife, however, is an altogether more personal, private matter, and heaven forfend it ever becomes any the less so.

January 15, 2008 at 17:15 #135353£3.24.
To be honest i dont like it when people ask about finances when it comes to betting, etc…
People shouldnt ask either.
January 15, 2008 at 17:19 #135356Get back to the Betfair Forum- oh, I forgot, you can’t……
January 15, 2008 at 19:06 #135449sadly, you’ve got the title of the thread wrong mansun. It should read:-
"how much has everywon one/lost today please?"
a subtle difference, which Tim Uk – the great and gorgeous Tim, never got wrong.
Today won: £54,352.45p – my husband gets the change
January 15, 2008 at 19:20 #135459Mansun – I suspect you are on a kamikaze mission and I’m afraid that on your current trajectory it won’t be long before that mission is accomplished.
Quote – ‘My hunch is the people running this forum want as much activity as possible to support their claim to be the biggest betting forum in the land.’
Wrong – we don’t want as much activity as possible. We want people to enjoy reading and contributing to the forum. Accordingly when something/one gets in the way of that aim we usually respond relatively swiftly for the greater good.
It’s a bit like you sticking up for the betting shop mug punters really. Well, sort of.
January 15, 2008 at 19:33 #135468Where is Madman Marz when you need him?
January 15, 2008 at 19:35 #135470Perhaps not as far away as we might have hoped…
January 15, 2008 at 19:38 #135474did Madman Marz get the bullet? are you implying that mansun IS Madman Marz, in a fiendish disguise? Good God, this is better than Emmerdale, surely?………
January 16, 2008 at 11:55 #135652And that could well be the final nail in the coffin!
In total agreement the welsh wizard about Emmerdale by the way. Still worth watching for Sam Dingle though..
January 16, 2008 at 11:58 #135653Divulging private mail really is the pits Mansun
Your post over in the Lounge in reply to Max was actually quite thoughtful, so you’ve obviously got what it takes to contribute worthwhile material
Take a pull, who needs 100+ posts in a couple of days from anyone
January 16, 2008 at 12:10 #135656I don’t know why people get so touchy when asked…….I can answer very easily………….bet zero won zero lost zero……tomorrow same Friday same Sat we’ll see………….I’d be ashamed of myself is I was betting every day…..I would like to think the majority of members on here think the same way…..certainly don’t seem like a stupid bunch of guys to me.
only a fool bets everyday unless he has unlimited funds and doesn’t care win lose or draw…I love racing but I am not into throwing it at the bookies like confetti. Did bet Nicky Henderson’s the other day but they stood out like two sore thumbs.Hardly a punter in the land didn’t bet them.
I find midweek racing throws up some real bad results. I do look but unless I see a horses like the Henderson pair or I have had word of a certain horse I adapt a watching brief and use things I see for future reference…..It’s a lot of fun and cost you nothing….my motto is let the racing work for you and don’t have yourself paying through the nose for daily info.
