Christ !
Just the 20 holidays this year then Paul ! Do you need someone to carry your cases ?

That’s what I employ a wife for

You’re not McCririck in disguise are you
July 30, 2008 at 16:18 #175347I’ve had racing trips to Dubai, Singapore and Los Angeles (Hollywood Park) so far and off to Chicago for the Arlington Million next week. I’ll get
back to LA for the Breeders’ Cup and finish off the year in Hong Kong.Grass – when I was in HK last December Ruby Walsh (on crutches) collared Frank Gabriel in the bar and tried to explain to him why he should be having a jumps track at Meydan. Glad to see that you are planning to be more pro-active…
I agree with Prufrock about Singapore. Top place with a great racecourse and really interesting scenery as well as the shopping districts.
For our family holiday we’re off to Kerry which we love and of course taking in a day at Killarney. I can’t remember having a (non ski) holiday which didn’t include at least one days racing!

Obviously don’t know when you’re going but don’t forget the Tralee Festival, which if memory serves roughly coincides with the Ebor meeting
Remember: cars clockwise round the Ring of Kerry, coaches anticlockwise

a) he has more hair than me
b) I don’t eat my own (or anyone elses) bogies
c) I didn’t eat three breakfasts on Derby Day
d) Pleasant enough as the Boobie is, my wife is probably more low maintenance.
e) I have a better taste in underwear
If I think of any more I will let you know
So I think nope!!!
July 30, 2008 at 18:15 #175353Went to Tokyo earlier in the year for a couple of days with a mate who was one of the pilots. Travelllling in Upper Class was more fun than the city itself… Lake District at Easter and more Lakes in a couple of weeks time. It’s a stunning place…
July 30, 2008 at 18:39 #175361Did you end up in the The Cage or The Truck while in Narita crizzy?

16 glorious days ahead
July 30, 2008 at 20:19 #175376CR They still talk about my Karioke in the cage!!! An amazing eye opening night out.The truck? No but my mate pointed it out along with a hotel with all those Christmas decs all over it. You know the one? Bizzare. We went to a small pub type bar which was covered in souvenirs from cabin crew and pilots which played vids of planes doing tricky landings etc. Went into Tokyo by train… took an hour..should have stayed in Narita cos I had a cracking hangover!!
Drinking at altitude is not good.
CrizJuly 30, 2008 at 20:33 #175378Well, where to start!
Jacintha and I spent a simply sublime week in a hovel in the middle of Mongolia, with nothing but our toothbrushes, a change of underwear and our American Express cards. It was such a pleasure to spend a week with ‘real’ people, away from all those touristy places full of ghastly inner city types who probably book their holidays ‘online’. We had a wonderful time, though Jacintha did have to point out the basics of personal hygiene to the family we were staying with, friendly advice which they took in good spirit. Its so nice to put something back.
Then to recuperate, we had a week or two on the Sultan of Brunei’s yacht, a fortnight skiing on an exclusive Pyrenean moutain, a long weekend on the dark side of the moon and a wonderful six weeks in a gorgeous little undiscovered hotel by the side of a lake in an unspoilt corner of Nirvana.
This month we’re hoping to sneak a couple of days in a parallel universe and a week or two touring Italy in a horse drawn cart. Then next month…..but I won’t go on. I know there’s nothing more tedious than people wittering on about their holidays!
Toodle pip!

July 30, 2008 at 22:53 #175423Northumberland..again…[sigh]…….[thanks British Gas……]
July 30, 2008 at 23:12 #175434For the rest of the year the "main" holiday is going to be four days in Vegas followed by 16 days doing Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
you like your compact cities Paul
Without putting you off Vancouver is pelasant rather than memorable but make sure you go whale watching. Best from Victoria on Vancouver island. Its largely Orcas…and never to be forgotten
Paris for the arc for me and the loire valley…
Good to see Santa Anita is Breeders next year too…so i can start saving for that one

CrizTry that 4 or 5 times a month, crizzy
, at least you had UC on the way back, unlike ourselves who have to make do with a few hours in the bunk
The ¨Christmas¨ hotel is a Love Hotel
(do a Wiki!). The bar sounds like the Flyers Bar, did you see the pictures of the topless cabin crew on the walls? If you thought the NRT trip was an eye opener get your mate to take you on a 9 day HKG – SYD
July 31, 2008 at 09:42 #175500We went to all-inclusive to Tunisia a couple of years ago, it was the worst place I have ever been. The food was rotten, the people were lazy thieves and pedophiles. The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful. Never ever go to Tunisia for your holidays, you have been warned.
