JPR One 7-4
December 7, 2023 at 13:13 #1672963More of a grand annual trial than an arkle trial this
Cupboard is seriously bare in britain in the 2m novice chase division
December 7, 2023 at 17:26 #1672982I think you’re correct FF I was looking for something, anything to oppose JPR One with because even if he’d stood up that race at Cheltenham was dreadful, as it is his stumble looked quite a nasty one in terms of him getting his legs all twisted up and you don’t know how it’ll affect his jumping. Given I’ve said I thought the race was dreadful I couldn’t really see Petit Tonnerre reversing the form but it was an encouraging debut from him to be fair over fences. Colonel Harry basically won a match race against a horse who’d be 100/1 in here because Tahmuras ran no sort of race at Chepstow. Unexpected Party wasn’t this level last season and doesn’t look a natural 2 miler but it could end up that he wins it through sheer experience. Le Patron is using this as a stepping stone for the Scilly Isles which would be more his trip. I would have backed Iceo because it may have gone unnoticed he was giving a lot of weight to JPR One at Newton Abbot and the jockey was very easy on him once he was beat but Cobden’s gone to Aintree rather than riding in a novice Grade 1 which to me suggests they don’t fancy him that much just hoping for some prize money. In short JPR One probably wins but not one I’d back and looks miles short of arkle standards.
December 7, 2023 at 19:15 #1672988Can’t believe none of the top Irish novices are being sent over for this. The Arkle division in Britain is woeful this season.
December 8, 2023 at 22:27 #1673089Iceo for me here. He was beaten by JPR One, but at that day he gave more then a stone away. Now on level weights at Sandown, where he won the Imperial Cup he must have a decent chance.
Iceo 5/1
December 9, 2023 at 10:41 #1673140Plenty in with chances here so Colonel Harry is my choice.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 9, 2023 at 11:28 #1673154I’ll join DBR on Iceo with course form and this as his main target. He’s my nap of the day.
I really like JPR One too, but think he will be better over a bit further on better ground (Manifesto Novices’ Chase type of horse).December 9, 2023 at 11:55 #1673159Jpr one deserves to win this
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 9, 2023 at 12:22 #1673181Iceo for me in this
December 9, 2023 at 13:33 #1673213Iceo at 4-1
December 9, 2023 at 13:54 #1673228Oh dear…that wasnt good to watch.
December 9, 2023 at 13:56 #1673229No not at all.
The more I know the less I understand.
December 9, 2023 at 13:56 #1673230Poor Iceo
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
December 9, 2023 at 13:56 #1673231Hideous. It happened just before the fence too- a brave horse to jump on 3 legs poor lad. Horrible to see.
December 9, 2023 at 13:57 #1673232Very sad to see.
Also wonder if that is Brendan Powell’s goose cooked.
December 9, 2023 at 13:59 #1673235Sad for Iceo connections.
Not sure what B.Powell did wrong his horse was a disappointment.
December 9, 2023 at 14:01 #1673236I thought JPR One was all over the winner until that mistake.
The more I know the less I understand.
