February 4, 2009 at 00:34 #207997Great race this
I’m interested that Chelsea Harbour is getting his chance in a smaller field this time round. Possible EW shot?
February 4, 2009 at 00:41 #208001Tom Mullins was quoted in one of the papers over the last few days saying that Chelsea Harbour was likely to skip this and wait for the Bobbyjo at Fairyhouse. Presume he’s just left him in on the off chance that the field cuts up.
February 4, 2009 at 00:59 #208004Ah, thats a shame.
My main bet on Exotic Dancer will probably be my only selection then. I really fancy him to keep the form against Nipper here
February 4, 2009 at 01:25 #208011I reckon Neptune Collonges can gain his revenge over Exotic Dancer in this one.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
February 4, 2009 at 01:32 #208013If this does go ahead the ground will be desperate- has to be odds-against at the moment.
February 4, 2009 at 01:35 #208015If Air Force One can put a disappointing run in the King George VI, in which he sustained a back injury, then i think he will be in with a chance here.
The course should suit, the distance will be fine for him and he will go left handed.
I am a big fan of the horse, and i think he could have a good chance at the weekend.
February 4, 2009 at 02:18 #208024Neptune Collonges is banker material to gain revenge over Exotic Dancer and take this comfortably before taking his deserved place in the Gold Cup.

Exotic Dancer would have beaten him last time, had Neptune stood up
and he will beat him again, hopefully without the over exagerated waiting tactics this time!February 4, 2009 at 02:26 #208027Neptune Collonges still available at odds-against.
It wouldn’t be that way if he’d stood up in the Lexus…
February 4, 2009 at 02:27 #208028Can’t see any reason why ED won’t saunter up to NC just after the penultimate fence, with a couple of bendy-buses in tow.
As was the case in the Lexus, this race will be set up beautifully so long as NC and The Listener stay on their feet. Steering Job.
February 4, 2009 at 02:45 #208031Would be interested in Notre Pere each way in this – will love the heavy ground and always been very highly regarded, as mentioned earlier there’s always a big priced placer and he’s not got to improve all that much to figure in this

Regardless of whether he would, or wouldn’t, have won against Neptune Collonges in the Lexus, as a hold-up horse Exotic Dancer would have been favoured by the lack of a stamina test.
With the heavier ground, and The Listener more likely to keep his feet and tow them along, I don’t think ED will get near NC in this one. I’m aware that ED has one in the bag over NC on heavy ground, but the latter is a much better horse now, and imo, the better stayer.February 4, 2009 at 06:40 #208084Is Air Force One definitely travelling over for this? 14/1 looks huge

I bleeding well hope not – that’ll be another GN bet up the Swanee.
edit: I’ve just had to do the ridiculous thing of putting a saver bet on Notre Pere for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, just in case he runs well here, and ends up with too much weight for the GN.
Also doing a bet on him here; he is in the mid 160s (Britain) I think after the Welsh GN anyway.
February 4, 2009 at 23:53 #208182No bet race for me but I think Exotic Dancer is the one. Odds will be too short to justify a bet though.
