OK my children, before I depart I would like to remind everybody on the special achievement that is the “Hello Girls” thread…. surely it must be TRF’s greatest thread and yet falls well below anybody’s radar and I am a tad saddened that the achievement hasn’t been recognised. Whilst I do acknowledge that the thread is of a jocular nature and perhaps the profit line is lacking, it still ranks as one of the most read threads on the forum, especially in the “systems” section…. and I point you to the following facts….

    Matron’s “Favourites” Thead….. 23,000 views…. it took 17 YEARS to reach that pinnacle….
    VTC’s “Midnight Club” Thread….. 18,000 views…. that took 6 YEARS….
but the “Hello Girls” Thread reached a massive 18,000 in just 10 MONTHS….

That is some going and really makes “Hello Girls” worthy of a special mention and it seems sad that nobody gives a toss…. so may I take this opportunity in thanking Bill (and you other guys) for making the thread something outstanding, it really was a special thread and deserves the accolade…..

I ‘give a toss’ MrE; having just discovered it it’s now one of my favourite places on the internet. For what it’s worth, I do back horses that have been off the track a long time; the annoying thing being that the ones that do win are usually the ones that I missed [ouch]. Also horses that have moved to smaller training establishments where they probably respond to extra tlc [Solar Impulse yesterday for example who I was about to back but changed my mind at the last minute, only to hear him go down by a whisker [even bigger ouch]]..

MrE ………….. May I wish you nice things for 2018.

I agree with you that “HELLO GIRLS” has been a bit special but we must not expect accolades from anywhere and continue to enjoy ourselves in our own way.

I think this thread has for me provided a place where I can experiment, where suggestions can be proposed and changes listened to and be made without rancour, it has no boundaries, nor it should in times when we complain of forums diminishing numbers.

    We are OK.

We all know the real reason why Ed has upset billy boy

I am so, so glad he was not voted as broadcaster of the year but NOT, NOT happy that Matt Chapman was considered to be the top man.

“Matron’s “Favourites” Thead….. 23,000 views…. it took 17 YEARS to reach that pinnacle”

The thread was started in 2001 and the “total views” was not transferable over.

The total number of views was just under 250000 before the old “TRF” was closed.

Hi Moe, thanks for that, I’m glad that someone else also enjoys the banter…. Billy (our pet cuddly toy) has been a great poster and has taken all the ribbing and jibes and always comes bouncing back, he’s been a large part of “Hello Girls”.
My wandering off for awhile is nothing new, I’m always going on my sabbaticals, this visit lasted longer than expected this time, such was my enjoyment in giving the little koala a bit of wellie… so as the great Arnie was known to spout…. “I’ll be back”….. in time for the Flat I hope…..

Sorry May Tron, our posts must have crossed…. wow!!!!…. surely that figure of 250,000 must be a typo, that’s a quarter million, if that’s true May, your older than I thought, to be able to command that many views in a lifetime is verging on the impossible…..you must have a long white beard by now and that begs the question of how you managed to keep it up for so long (keep your mind above the waist Nathan). I think I’ll change your name from May to Moses…. yeah, you look like Moses…. it’s a great forum May (Moses), long may it prosper…. I’ll see you all on the flip flop….

Heck; I spent ages the other night working out which trainers had a good SR and then didn’t back their runners. Didn’t realise someone was doing the work for me. If only my computer wasn’t so frustratingly slow at the moment; takes me forever to duck and dive between threads….

Moehat . . . . welcome to my world

Now that it is official I am no longer the “elder” and the Welshman is on walkabout it feels like a strange new world but I take comfort in knowing Moehat suffers the same malaise as I do

I wonder where he goes? Surely not chasing sheep or goats on the mountains! It is a mystery.

    Saturday January 6

Both CHEPSTOW & WINCANTON have HEAVY in the going description and so, they are ignored.

So far in this first week of the new year I am for the first time back in the BLACK.

OK, I know, it really is early days but I have a gut feeling I have stopped the rot with the introduction of avoiding HEAVY ground and re-introducing the filters which served me well last Spring.

I must hold my hand up to making a whacking great boo-boo yesterday without which I would have been even happier with the first weeks results.

Whilst our man is “walkabout”, perhaps not in Wales but possibly NEW SOUTH WALES in the country of all Walkabouts, we must press on and whilst the majority of tipsters have been sucked into the Saturday mud at Chepstow my two are both on the “flat”.

    ARCANDA @ 11/8 Lingfield 2.20 …………………………… WON

    CRAVING @ 13/8 Lingfield 12.40 ………………………….. LOST

    Update: –

For some reason the EDIT facility is missing: –

    CRAVING ………………. LOST

    ARCANDA (11/8) …………. WON 4/6

Opinion: – this looks very much to be a slow burner (as someone described a small profit making system) but better a “slow burner” than a quick loser.

We all indulge our sport for very different reason but the object being to make a profit. Some want those profits quickly but for myself just being involved without being out of pocket is enough.

Both Newcastle and Plumpton have been declared to have HEAVY conditions tomorrow and so I will have a day off.
