January 1, 2018 at 11:43 #1335237Happy New Year to us all and may it bring some winners – Hogmaneigh to elcartero
Because it is a new year it brings the opportunity for start something fresh and although I happy to post the selections derived from the recent systems I have created a different twist which may or may not bare fruit.
AXE CAP 12.05 Southwell @ 1/1 ……………………………….. Lost
DIEG MAN 12.25 Catterick @ 8/15 …………………………….. WON 2/5
JE SUIS CHARLIE 12.30 Middlesburgh @ 8/13 ……………………. Lost
REPORT TO BASE 3.00 Exeter @ 8/13 ……………………………. Won 4/7
4 x singles + win acca.
I am sure if MrE was around he would suggest the use of MERDS but just for know (as Frank Sinatra said) I will do it my way.
The 4 selections have been taken as the most favoured from a list of 12 picked via BF/Vampire/Naps/Money movers. I hope time proves them to make me the LAZIEST PUNTER of them all.

You’ve certainly started something off here, Moehat. I used to go racing with an old boy who backed BF2 each way with some success. Here’s today’s selections just for fun!

1415 Musselburgh Meadowcraft Boy
1510 Cheltenham Rayvin Black

January 1, 2018 at 15:46 #1335287Hello elcartero
If you look deep enough there is always a degree of logic to these favoured system/methods and BF2 has it in abundance and I am 100% sure they worked and made a profit in the longer term.
I think the problem being as to why they fade into the mists of time can only be when the “fly by nights” like myself do not give them a long run when trying them out or idiots, and I again am perhaps the biggest idiot of all, continue to bet when the conditions are stacked against the horses and therefore the punter.
Saturdays are hard, bank holidays are impossible (IMO) especially as a favourite backer but add the dreadful ground conditions which makes fools of the ratings and my New Years resolution should be to take notice of my own pontificating.

January 1, 2018 at 17:17 #1335297Can’t argue with that, Bill but 3 losers and a NR is hardly an auspicious start. May be worth keeping an eye on for a while but meanwhile I’ll stick with my KISS top two selections and try not to get distracted in future.

Distraction is the other major problem preventing seeing systems through of which I am yet again guilty.
But do I have fun?
As painful as it sometimes can be, yes, I do enjoy myself and have fun.

Posting on places such as this can be compared to talking to yourself but if you do not listen what is the point?
I have said time and time again that both form and ratings prove of little value when the under hoof conditions are said to be HEAVY. The most recent post repeating this mantra was in reply to elcartero‘s BF2 post.
Well a New Year and so for a refreshed resolution “AVOID THE HEAVY”.
My two considerations at Ayr today, BLUNDER BUSS and NICEANDEASY are both swerved…….. lost x2

How hard is this?
Ludlow is crossed out with HEAVY going in places included in the ground description plus a couple of other filters which saved me a lot of losing bets last spring has reduced my selections to just one, again via the VAMPIRE plan.
OUTER SPACE @ 7/4 at Wolverhampton 5.40 …………………….. LOST
Hard it may be to pass over some good looking choices but it did save me 2x losing bets yesterday

January 3, 2018 at 15:48 #1335477I have been under a fair amount of time pressure these past few days and only managed to post without making much of a comment regarding how or why selection have been made and hope to remedy it now.
I quickly glossed over my feelings of testing ground conditions, after all it is winter and we are certainly getting what after all we should expect at this time of the year. However I am starting to think this winter has not as yet produced those wonderful sunny and frosty days which can bring about a variety which can make winter racing so enjoyable.
Rain and wind in abundance has provided the ongoing slog which has tested both horse and rider to the limit but I want more.
My selections have always been honed towards, ratings, favouritism and tipsters and therefore I imagine both tipsters and favouritism are inclined towards ratings and furthermore think I have said the hoof deep mud must make a mockery of speed and weight ratings with the knock on effect that I am helping make the layers richer than they already are.
Perhaps the simple solution is to quit betting on NH meetings but where is the fun?
Many years ago when Adrian Massey was “king” his major poster via the forum was a certain lady called Maria who’s mantra was then, never to bet if the word HEAVY was in the description of the ground conditions. I have never forgot those words but never managed to adhere to them.
I do believe it was the very same lady, although I am not 100% sure, who also suggested avoiding Saturdays, saying the racing was far too competitive for the punter to succeed. Maybe, maybe not!
But winter is dragging on and for my selections is becoming harder and harder to find the winners and so I am again introducing past filters which have reduced my betting numbers and thus losing selections.
AVOID THE HEAVY.
AVOID HORSES HAVING BEEN OFF THE TRACK FOR A WHILE (and so maybe not as fit as they can be, although some run well fresh).
AVOID RIDERS SUCH AS CLAIMERS/AMATEURS and dare I say “LADIES”There will always be exceptions such as today I missed MIXBOY (not having run for 256 days) who won by the slimmest of margins but maybe would have won more easily if fitter, who knows?
Maybe rab123 who is posting “Trainers with a High SR within 30 days” has the whole problem sorted but these are my ideas of how to reduce my betting numbers whilst the conditions are against me.

January 3, 2018 at 17:13 #1335490Hi Billion.. if we don’t keep at what will we find to do to keep our brains active.
i will post system horses that are making a profit from the day I started them, some of

My IQ will never be found on any MENSA list but I am pleased with achieving what I have despite only having a secondary schooling at Dagenham.
I do agree with you that we do what we can to stop the brain from rotting but within the scope of horse racing systems we can learn some small things from each other which may help us along our way.
I did mention Maria who was not a person I got along well with but to a point she was generous with her expertise and so I must give her the credit she is due. This is why I try to explain any point I feel to be unclear regarding my selections should anyone have the slightest of interest in them.
BREATHLESS TIMES has not made my BF list for tomorrow which includes: –
PULSATING 4.05 Wolv’s – COURT HOUSE 1.00 & WINDS of FIRE 2.40 Both at Newcastle.I cannot conclude my selections until the morning when all possible selections are run past my latest filter idea which is far from proven at this time and was taken from the suggestion proposed by MrE of seeing which horse carries the most daily tips via the RP racecards.
Should it all go “pear-shaped” it will not be my fault but his
