    Australian sprinter, sadly a victim of laminitis.

    Trainer John McNair revealed Hay List had been put down on Tuesday, and told the Daily Telegraph in Australia: "He has been fighting this condition since mid-December and in the last few weeks he was taking two steps forward, five steps back.

    He had a terrible night (Monday) and we could not put him through that again."

    Hay List has been buried standing up, facing the sun at McNair’s property.

    Obviously much loved. R.I.P.

    How awful. As you say, an obviously much loved horse.
