Will their be a guarnteed pace setter?…if not its going to be very tough for Hurricane Fly to settle.

I hate Irish Race’s that lack any pace for the first cicuit…their a bit of a joke tbh. We need a good end to end gallop before even considered geting involved at any price on any horse. If the pace is slow Solwhit for me but if its a proper gallop i be taking him on i think.

I wait and see the comments re Hurricane Fly to understand what the trainer wants to see from his charge. If its a blackstairmountain sort of debut then the layers will be out and i be their at any price.

Yeah Shinrock caught my eye but this aint his distance.

He wont be able to compete with true 2 milers over 2m I don’t think.

I put Luska Lad and Donnas Palm ahead of him in this race. Still a big enough price though

This is 2m4 on heavy ground. It will take some getting and he’ll stay every yard.

Hurricane Fly will have to settle. If he pulls like he did twice at Punchestown last year he might struggle to get home. Solwhit 5/4 is about right.

Please pardon my ignorance! I thought it was 2m. I was at last years race so no excuses

Solwhit for me – in the hope that Hurricane Fly needs the race.

I presume one of Luska Lad or Aitmatov will take them along.

If Hurricane Fly is fit, then he really should win this.

No chance of racing on Thursday I’d say.

If the thaw comes at the weekend I wonder could they reschedule the three Grade 1s for Punchestown along with the John Durkan?

If they do and both Solwhit and Hurricane Fly were fit there would be only one result but I doubt if Willie Mullins has the Fly anywhere near 100%.

Hurricane Fly has a realistic chance of winning this seasons Champion Hurdle whereas Solwhit’s chances would be much less. Makes more sense for Charles Byrnes to have his charge 100% and grab what he can while he can.

That of course is why he’s 5/4 and Hurrcane Fly a massive 3/1.

Everything points to Sowhit this time but come March it will be a different story.

    Solwhit begrudgingly for me.

I think Summit Meeting is a good each way bet, third at Down Royal, and will be better for returning to 2m 4f.

Hurricane Fly won it pretty easy in the end, Solwhit clearly just short of being top class, can’t see him picking up anything in a strong field.

Hurricane Fly in a league of his own.

Only injury can stop this lad from storming up hill come March.

    Nice price in the end.

Unless I’ve missed something why was his stamina questioned beforehand? He’d won at a similar distance in France.

Yes their was mainly because Solwhit is proven Grade 1 Winner over the trip and HF was having his first Run.
