320E Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace H’dle (Grade 1)

10215 2 Blackstairmountain(145)(WPMullins) – 11,10
1-221 3 Donnas Palm(155) (NMeade) – 11,10
12121 4 Final Day (GElliott) – 11,10
-13-1 5 Hurricane Fly(166) (WPMullins) – 11,10
282f2 6 Jumbo Rio(150) (EJO’Grady) – 11,10
11914 7 Luska Lad(150) (JJHanlon) – 11,10
-1213 8 Mourad(150) (WPMullins) – 11,10
f94-3 9 On The Way Out (JEKiely) – 11,10
-4651 10 Oscar Dan Dan(150) (TMullins) – 11,10
1 11 Peddlers Cross (DMcCain Jnr (in GB)) – 11,10
23910 12 Powerstation(151) (EO’Connell) – 11,10
11-p1 13 Shinrock Paddy(143) (PNolan) – 11,10

4-143 15 Summit Meeting (GB)(143)(MrsJHarrington) – 11,10
11040 16 Won In The Dark(148) (SJHarty) – 11,10
1-391 17 Voler La Vedette(149) (CAMurphy) – 11,05Solwhit and Voler La Vedette both run in the Morgiana on Sunday so it’s unlikely they’ll pitch up again here. Donnas Palm might be a possible even after running on Sunday if Aitmatov hasn’t recovered from his fall at Navan.
I presume Peddlers Cross only holds a precautionary entry in case Newcastle is abandoned but I do think this trip will suit him better in the long term.
This is the target for Hurricane Fly now that he’s been ruled out of the Morgiana. Two and a half shouldn’t be a problem as long as he settles – he already won over this trip on heavy ground in France. All of Willie’s horses are needing the run (as is the case most years) but Hurricane Fly is not exactly a difficult horse to get fit so I assume he’ll be fairly straight.
Shinrock Paddy is a horse that interests me this season. If we’ve any horse in Ireland that could be capable of getting within a country mile of Big Bucks, this fellow is it. I think he’ll be the one here that can expose any chinks in Hurricane Fly’s armour.
November 11, 2010 at 11:58 #327497I’d happily follow Hurricane Fly blind, this horse is pure class, and it will be a tight call between him and Binocular for the Champion Hurdle.
November 14, 2010 at 15:43 #327959The 1-2-3 from today’s Morgiana could all reoppose going on the post-race quotes.
This could be a hell of a race – Solwhit, Hurricane Fly, Shinrock Paddy, Voler La Vedette, Donnas Palm. Any chance Peddlers Cross will give Newcastle a miss?!

The Drinmore is shaping up nicely and the Royal Bond is bound to throw up a good novice as usual – Zaidpour/Staying Article/Ballyhaunis/Dylan Ross. Great day’s racing in prospect in a fortnight’s time.

Hurricane Fly runs he wins simple as.
November 15, 2010 at 11:48 #328043Hurricane Fly had a 1m4 workout on the flat at Punchestown yesterday.
Paul Townend: "He worked well and once we are happy with him over the next week or ten days he will start his season in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse on November 28."

may I suggest we have our balls on him?
November 15, 2010 at 19:26 #328116Even money the Hurricane will pull a left eyelash and be scratched at the two day decs…

November 19, 2010 at 17:39 #328675A word of caution to Hurricane Fly followers: he badly needed his first run last season when Solwhit comprehensively beat him. I know he won at Punchestown after a long lay off but that was the only race left for him. He has bigger fish to fry, so I won’t be disappointed if he does get turned over.
November 19, 2010 at 17:55 #328676He can be very keen and that could be an issue over this trip – although he did win over two and a half in France.
Hopefully Shinrock Paddy will go a good clip out in front. Solwhit will be the one they all have to beat though.
November 22, 2010 at 21:25 #329323Ladbrokes bet: 5-4 Solwhit, 3 Hurricane Fly, 5 Oscar Dan Dan, 7 Donnas Palm, Voler La Vedette, 10 Aitmatov, Jumbo Rio, Mourad, 12 Summit Meeting, 14 Luska Lad, 16 bar, NB 3/1 Peddlers Cross (with a run)
November 22, 2010 at 22:28 #329333Connections seemed to be pleased with Hurricane Fly when schooling at Punchestown recently.
Surely if he is fit and well, he would beat Solwhit.
November 22, 2010 at 22:37 #329337He didn’t go for the Morgiana because he was coughing that week. At 3/1 I’m extremely suspicious that Ladbrokes know something we don’t And with the way Mullins horses have been running first time out this season I don’t want to have an interest in this race

-3912 13 Voler La Vedette (CAMurphy) – (150)It’s hard to go against the front two in the market but I can’t believe Shinrock Paddy is 16/1. I think he’ll prove he’s a far superior horse this season than the likes of Mourad, Jumbo Rio and one or two others ahead of him in the betting.
November 23, 2010 at 18:23 #329450Yeah Shinrock caught my eye but this aint his distance. He wont be able to compete with true 2 milers over 2m I don’t think. I put Luska Lad and Donnas Palm ahead of him in this race. Still a big enough price though
November 23, 2010 at 18:27 #329455As ironic and perhaps even slightly silly, the fact that Hurricane Fly is 7/2 puts me off, someone knows something here!
November 23, 2010 at 19:46 #329465even money solwit on soft ground is a certainty lads

This is 2m4 on heavy ground. It will take some getting and he’ll stay every yard.
Hurricane Fly will have to settle. If he pulls like he did twice at Punchestown last year he might struggle to get home. Solwhit 5/4 is about right.
