OK BURATINO listen very carefully you have one last chance to go out there and show them what you can do.
No excuses everything is in your favour (unless there is a Sunami overnight).
You have your distance
You have your ground (you WILL hear your hooves rattle)
ALL you have to do is bring the REAL Buratino along tomorrow and you will win.
I’ve always been an optimist and after his last race decided to give him one more chance.
Mark Johnston has always sung this horses praises as have I along with Graham (BigG),Interested to hear your thoughts Graham….will be be back on our Christmas list after tomorrow?
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 15, 2016 at 20:02 #1256093Jac, I would love him to finally show his true mettle this year and win this. If he is
anywhere near the horse that you and I believe him to be, then I think he should hose up
here. I didn’t think last year that I would see him this year running in the white cap second
string of Godolphin, but he’s been rejected by Doyle in favour of Charming Thought, which isn’t
very encouraging. I’m not sure why he hasn’t lived up to our expectations, but as you say, if he
doesn’t get it right tomorrow with all things in his favour then I don’t know when he will. This is DEFINITELY his last chance. I think you and I deserve an A+ for loyalty, but I’m beginning
to wonder if we can’t see the wood for the trees, and are getting like a couple of lemmings jumping
off the bookies cliff
July 15, 2016 at 20:31 #1256095Backed a similar profile horse as Buratino. Iluminate to win
Was never going to get the mile in the Guineas. Next time out on soft ground ( which the trainer has always stated is not suitable ) ran an ok race over 6F beaten 3L by Quiet Reflection in the Commonwealth G1
Just beaten by Lumiere in the 6F Cheveley Park on fast ground last year.
Looking for her to show some of that form and potential in this race.
July 15, 2016 at 21:38 #1256098Illuminate is a lovely filly botchy and she and Buratino both have their ground tomorrow.
Lumiere has found her form again winnning at Newmarket last week and they both had Alice Springs behind them in the Cheveley Park and Hannon’s filly has been very highly tried in Group 1 races all year. For Buratino it’s going to have to be the comeback of the season… exciting race in prospect.
Thanks for pinpointing Illuminate botchy, she should run well in this and think I might well have a saver on her on your advice just in case Buratino leaves himself at home again

@BigG Would send me off on holiday a happy woman to see Buratino win this Graham.
Mark Johnston has had so much faith in him (like we have) this is definitely his last chance saloon no more chances. I can see you and I balancing on that precipice waiting to take the leap Graham the bookies creeping up behind us holding bagfuls of our hard earned cash ready to push us over
To be continued…..
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 16, 2016 at 05:01 #1256177I still feel there is more to come from Mr Lupton, i am willing to discount the all weather run at Newcastle when staying on well in the closing stages under Spencer. Lets not forget he has plenty of speed after just being denied in the Super Sprint here last year. Got a hike of 9lb after landing the Charity Sprint at York two runs back, he could be a serious player under Spencer once more.

July 16, 2016 at 06:55 #1256182Good luck with Mr Lupton Darren, brilliant write up on The Hackwood.
One or two here that have to put bad runs behind them, some more than others and some serious speed merchants in this.
We should know a lot more after this race. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 16, 2016 at 13:20 #1256252Wish the ground was softer i put up THE TIN MAN as horse to follow this season bolted up at Windsor but ran no race at Ascot i gone him again at 7/2 he very classy horse think he win it
July 16, 2016 at 15:49 #1256264Look forward to seeing the most impressive Tin Man against Limato. Never thought he’d get through and win like that from where he was. Top class horse and a bold ride from a jockey who’d have every reason to have lost some confidence. He showed plenty here.
Well done darren83
July 16, 2016 at 19:13 #1256277Well done Darren great win from TTM
Buratino had everything in his favour today didn’t he Graham and just seemed to sulk and drop out when asked to challenge..at least we know now. Both Godolphin horses disappointing.
On holiday from tomorrow until 26th but will pop in from time to time .keep winning..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 16, 2016 at 22:21 #1256289You’re right Jac, it’s really disappointing, but we at least gave him every chance. He’s just
not the horse that he was last year. Unless they discover something that’s wrong with him, and I’m
pretty sure Mark Johnston, trainer and vet, would have clocked it by now, then I guess that is that.
Seems he just hasn’t trained on from last year. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Have a great holiday Jac,
I’ll not be far behind you as me and Mrs BigG are off to Jersey on Friday

Top man Darren, well spotted earlier in the season. I hope you did well out of him today
July 17, 2016 at 00:57 #1256300Buratino ran a lot of races as a two year old and it looks like he just matured ability wise quicker than most in my view as a two year old and the others have caught up and progressed past him.
Similar to that of Tiggy Wiggy and Ivawood of yesteryear.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Similar to that of Tiggy Wiggy and Ivawood of yesteryear.I think you may have hit the nail on the head Nathan, he was an imposing
big beast compared to many of his rivals back then. A bit like the kid
at the school sports day that is a head taller and 2 stone heavier than
the scrawny kids in his class. Not that it left it’s mark on me……bloody

nothing personal Tommy

in that the day you stop following your cliff horse
they tend to bolt up at odds of 20/1 plus

July 17, 2016 at 17:49 #1256476Aarghhhh Nathan!!….You’ve just become that little devil that sits on your
shoulder, whispering “oh well, leave him alone if you like, but you know what’s
going to happen” lol.But you’re right, and I’ve been down that road before. On this occasion though I’d
need to hear something very positive from Johnston or see some of the old spark
come back before I’d part with any more of my hard earned….or that’s the plan
at the moment, I think
