March 13, 2007 at 18:49 #45733Well done Barry you must of made a small fortune! Has it filled you with confident to go a stand-out price on something tomorrow and if so what?

March 14, 2007 at 00:30 #45737Or perhaps (God forbid) that Triumph just is not as good as some thought?
Im not atime freak but it was the only race from last year run faster than the quick year of 2000 9so i read last night)
Silly to knock the race at this stage anyway
Ok day for me

I think it would have been at the front (or very close to) if the starter hadn’t have called them back (well, that was what i seemed like at the pictures and what Hobbs had to say).
I also think dropping the little horse in the middle with big horses either side of him intimedited Fair Along.
Still don’t think it was a RJ finest hour.
Not sure, maybe MWDS is a real class above. But I would like to see a rematch at Aintree and I will be looking to re-coup the loss.
March 14, 2007 at 09:35 #45741I agree on RJ’s ride. I thought he should have let him stride on down the back and take issue with the leaders instead he got outjumped and then crowded out and was in a poor position coming down the hill. Personally I think if he was closer to the pace or leading there would have been little in it at the finish. Considering he ran into Don’t Push it he finished the best of anything up the hill…
March 14, 2007 at 10:23 #45742im a fan of RJ, but that was one of his worst rides ever. A horse that has won all its races from the front, and doesnt like being crowded held up in mid field? he should have blazed the trail, he stays further than 2 miles anyway and was only going to get shuffled back being intimidated in mid field
I need to pull something out of the bag in the next two days as at the moment this is resembling a massacre…
Is anyone on here betting (and no not laying, as every layer mst be raking it in) actually having a successful festival?

March 14, 2007 at 18:07 #45752Nope.
Heads on the ground afforded me decent – non walking – transport back yesterday but no more and had to wiat untill the last today to see a winner, not even a place prior.
I should know much better, though couldn’t find a worthy alternative, but next time Meade tells the world that he has a ‘best I’ve trained’ on his hands he can ******* do one.
March 14, 2007 at 18:11 #45754Well I escaped alive no thanks to Well Chief. Had my biggest bet ever on it and wondered where it had gone so quick. I knew it was good but didn’t think it was so good as to have finished already lol. Cork All Star got me off the hook a bit – that’s two days in a row that the last has been lucky for me.
"Next time Meade tells the world he has a best i’ve trained on my hands" will be next Christmas when one of his juveniles wins Wilson lol.
Anyone who has found any of the big priced winners gets my respect, I should stick to pin rolling.
March 14, 2007 at 18:35 #45756A question that has been on my mind since ‘the best I’ve ever trained’ Sweet Wake got turned over but why does one trainer have so many bridle horses ?
It’s no coincidence IMO that he does so badly at the festival when his horses cruise through soft ground on the bit but flop eventually.
The fact that the excellent Carberry’s ride in a similar fashion only extends my worry.
Even on his now penultimate start A.C didn’t look too good when hands and heels so I reckon he trains a bunch of non-stayers.
Never has a trainer seen so many ‘potential superstars’ turn out to be average.
The country’s leading trainer for a while now but…
March 14, 2007 at 22:26 #45758Not doing bad at all. 4 winners & 3 placed.
Couldn’t believe the 100/1 about According to John as Faasel had run well for Nicky Richards on Tuesday on only his second run over fences , so backed it each way (that must be why it ended up at 66/1!) Hope this augurs well for Monets Garden, I really rate Nicky Richards as a trainer.
Being from Cheshire I had to back Cloudy Lane, so pretty successful so far.
