It’s that time of year again where it’s not only racing season but also film season. Now we’ve had a thread on favorite films, but I was watching the trailer for ‘The Hobbit’ earlier which got me thinking about one of my favorite film scene, ‘The Ride of The Rohirrim’ in ‘The Lord of The Rings: The Return of The King’. Still makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Perhaps if people want to leave a youtube link to a scene of their choice, could make for some great viewing after the buzz of the Christmas racing has died down

The ‘Get Three Coffins Ready’ scene from ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ is another favorite of mine, but I could list 20 scenes from spaghetti westerns that I would consider up there with the best.

Another western scene which builds tension like no other is the opening scene form ‘Once Upon A Time In The West’. This clip is only a full 12 minutes long, all of which is spent brilliantly building suspense as the men wait for the train to arrive.

Finally, here’s the great scene from ‘Any Given Sunday’ where Al Pacino gives a stellar performance.

From a sports related film The Natural is a gem;

Even just watching this clip reduced me to a blubbering wreck though the happy ending makes up for it!;

American Psycho is an out and out god of a film but i love this, maybe just a little bit more than the business card scene
